I saw in some older forums that Societe charged $25 for the glass on a growler fill. Is this still the case? Just wondering if I need to go find a blank swing-top elsewhere to get filled.

Last time I was there that was the case.

They fill blank swing top growlers, though, I'm not sure if it's limited to the styles that are sold there. For instance, I believe they use the swing top glass growlers that look like bongs and I'm not sure if they'll fill a blank palla style growler. You might want to call and ask.

They sell really nice stainless steel growlers for $25, those are the way to go if you have to pay $25.

Yup. Definitely this. And make sure to get a blank one, so you can get it filled at Stone, Hess, and whoever else does swingtops.

The only blank growlers that they will fill are the Stone / Bruery style. If you choose to blank a growler that you already have, be sure you remove the ghost image of the prior brewery. I was turned away once for that reason. The safest thing is to buy a blank Stone growler (I think they are $10).

Has something changed since this blog post?

I have an unbranded 2L swing top but it isn't the Palla style. It's the wide-mouth style that they sell. I'll probably just call them.

I think you are right. It looks like any swing top blank growler is acceptable. The warning stands on "blanked" growlers though. I had an extended email conversation with the tasting room manager about that (super nice guy by the way) and they are pretty firm with respect to that particular part of the policy.

Good deal. The one I have has never been branded so I should be fine with that. Thanks.
