Ughhhh, to try The Thief you either have to camp out at Societe for an entire day, waiting for them to tap it (which actually doesn't sound too bad), or plunk down $100 for what sounds like an amazing dinner event.

Can one of you rich BAs that has a remote job (work from home job) please hire me?

In all seriousness though, I love Societe so much, and I look forward to celebrating with you all throughout June!

For the elite Societe guys. I could buy alot of ipa's with that. 16 bottles of world class ipa's.
But seriously I was just at Societe yesterday and I wish they would bottle. The Pupil and Apprentice are amazing. I wanted a growler fill of the Butcher and they said no more fills. Was a little bummed. Three weeks to celebrate! Right on. I am so lucky to be able to go to one of my local eating places in HB and have a pint of Societe beers almost any given time of the week. Outstanding beers. Congrats on 3 years! What are they gonna do on their 25th anniversary? 25 weeks of celebrating?

Actually I'm heading to BT's BBQ now to have a pint of the Apprentice. Cheers!

From what people said about the last dinner it sounds like 100 bucks is completely reasonable!

Oh it's definitely reasonable. For a luxury item, it's completely fairly priced. I was just expressing some bummerment that I can't afford it. In my ideal world, they'd have an anniversary party a la Modern Times. Some various goodies tapped (i.e. feral beers, Miser, Roustabout), 10 tasters, and a food truck for $40 plus processing fees.

In any case, it's their brewery and they should do what they want. It sounds like a really fun event, and I wish I could go. I've been to a couple of their food pairing dinners over the years, and they've all been great. This one is just a little too outside of my budget.

Anyone know if anniversary plans include another batch of Roustabout?

Doug said he would never bottle the ipas, but that they would bottle the wild/sours . He said that on the first anny tour he gave.

There's at least another beer bottled as well. We might finally start seeing a consistent output.

I thought their wild ale/sour program was in the works a long time ago. Was The Swindler available to try at the party or only by purchasing the bottle?

It wasn't available to try. They were pouring it at FWIBF though...which doesn't help everybody.

There was almost no line at Societe basically all day at the festival.

They crushed it with the 4th anni party. The games were killer entertainment and reasonable wait times for refills. Still in awe of Teddy's chug...

Consistent with what they've been saying for several years. During the feral dinner, I got a chance to chat with Doug and he said exactly this. No plans on, and adamantly against, bottling IPAs but specifically said they would bottle their ferals "when ready". I'm pretty sure I have the handouts from the feral dinner from November 2013 mentioning bottles of their ferals lying around somewhere.

Wondering how they'll be handling this bottle release with the folks that attended the feral dinner a few years back though. I remember when they ended the event, they mentioned attendees would get a shot at 2 bottles of each release. Very excited to see this finally come to fruition!

Is there any info on Societe Four? I think it started this past Saturday? Are they doing a weeklong event? I will be in the area starting this Thursday and planning to visit.

    I don't think it's a weeklong thing anymore.
