Sofie paradisi sightings chicago

From a reputable source, Sofie Paradisi is....

-Keg only
-no growlers. (OMG DONG!!!!)
-limited quantities but will show up around Chicago. My guess we will first see this @ the GI 25th party (hopefully). If not definitely at the GI Block Party and other CCBW events. Expect it at things like GI Tap takeover events.
-has already made it out in small quantities to other cities for events (i.e. DC beer week, etc) but will mostly be a Chicagoland location
-its fucking delicious (I've had it, it's REALLY GOOD) Disclaimer I also lover grapefruit.

Agree with everything, but it is a little misleading for Goose to claim it will be available starting his past Monday and then not send it anywhere.....

Agreed. Their original press release said something like "draft only as of 2/21/13" which led me to believe it would be released at the end of February, so I've been jonesing for this beer for months, so I feel ya.

Our distro received our kegs on Tuesday, so they are out and about. Looking forward to putting this on tap next to Sofie proper.

On tap at the Upland Sour/Wild/Funk fest. You definitely have to like grapefruit. Really great summer beer, wish it was a regular.

 

I got a text message from a buddy in Long Beach on Friday night. He was at a bar that had a GI tap takeover and it was pouring at the event....how does California get this beer before Chicago?!?!?!?

 

It's in Chicago. Was at the GI 25th anniversary party last night. My second time having it and it's still as good as I remembered. I would agree with Dontcounttoday, if you like tart grapefruit like I do then this is your summer beer.

 

I despise grapefruits, but thought it worked great with Sophie...

Still no legit sightings on Sophi Paradisi in Chicago? I popped my head into the GI brewpub in Clybourn earlier yesterday and didn't see it.

 

Any word what bars? One eyed bettys? They usually get crazy goose island stuff

 

According to GI, not going to see this in Chicago until CCBW.

Very tasty. One of the highlights of Saturday night at Clybourn.

 

Tastes different than it has in the past.. that might just be me being old and crotchety.
