I've gotten 2 sixers this week from 2 different places and they all taste sour and/or tart.
I remember this as being fruity and a little sweet.
Anybody else have this happen? @HopHeadHerman ?

I always thought it was tart. It is sort of a pissed off version of leinie's berry weiss.

I've never had this be a sweet beer, it has always been a bit tart. I remember trying it for the 1st time thinking it would be along the lines of a Lindeman's sweet fruit beer but being shocked that it wasn't sweet at all

No comment as I haven't had any in a while and can't really recall the taste too distinctly, but a related interesting tidbit:

Joe Short mentioned in an AMA over on /r/michiganbeer about a year ago his favorite and least favorite styles of the Short's brand:

"Least favorites: Sour, brett beers. Favorites: Alien Einstein, Juicy Tree, Spruce Pilsner, and Huma Lupa Licious."

That does not sound right, sour and tart is not a flavor that should be there. I believe all of Shorts bottles are flash pasteurized, infection or contamination that is generally associated with that flavor should not be an issue.

I've not heard of any issues- if you give me the code date, located on the neck of the bottle, I can look into it. Definitely strange.

Seems to be a touch tart to me. Subtle, solid, a berry beer that does not hide the sourness of its elements. After all, berries are usually the combination of sweet and sour.

The first batch looks like 03/18/14 and the second 08/13/14. ( Wish they would not use black ink. )
The newer batch became less tart as it warmed.
