I'm surprised there isn't any mention of Solarc Brewing of LA in this forum. Solarc beers can be hard to find but they brew some of the more interesting (and tasty!) beers in LA, including Shower Beer (stout w/coffee and tea); 90042 (belgian tripel), and Dunes (gruit ale). All of their beers have some added herb or coffee/tea. I understand their beer is not everyone's "cup of tea" but it's a nice change from the typical blonde ale/IPA/stout lineup. Lately Solarc has had a guest tap at Mumford with take-home crowlers available so it's never been easier to drink Solarc. Their beer isn't always available at stores but in my part of town I have seen Solarc at Everson Royce in Pasadena, Craft Beer Cellar in Eagle Rock, and Handy Market in Burbank http://www.solarcbrewing.com/home/
