It was recently pointed out to me that a 2021 thread was never started...and with the new location, and the new brand (Hidden Hand) coming soon..now is as good a time as ever.

don't have much to report as of now, but the new patio is looking really nice. Keeping the domes must have cost them like 25% capacity. It still nice to chill at and have a beer. I jus thad knee surgery a couple weeks ago, so booze plus crutches is a bad idea..but I do enjoy a Friday Junior, a lower ABV hazy.

Anyone plan to head to the Logan location when they open? I"ll certainly check it out. Not sure how frequently I would go unless motivated (I don't head to the city much these days)

Hoping to make it out there at some point but I would be driving past the OG location to get to the LS location.

Fairly excited for the Logan location.

Easy to pair up with Middle Brow and Gretel just down the street for a legit burger and bourbon list.

So is Hidden Hand a part of SOB? Either way I’m excited to try the new brews that hit distro this week. Bonus, The Open Bottle in Lockport threw in a free HH glass!

Definitely worth grabbing if you see, better than any SOB hazy that I have had.

After 9 years in business Solemn Oath has released its first Wild Ale, Dust Music: Square Wave. It was aged in Wine Barrels for 18 months with Aronia Berries and then bottle conditioned for 5 months.

It veers very close to fruited vinegar but then restrains itself just enough to taste like all the red Kool-Aids at once. If you were a fan of the early Rare Barrel beers this is on that same level. Highly recommended if you're into those old school barrel aged sours.

Has anybody else noticed the pricing at Still Life? Especially the Hidden Hand beers at basically $1/oz. I thought it was a fluke the first time I visited but it surely is not.

Solemn Oath's taproom prices have been "inflated" since the pandemic. It's about $8 for a standard ABV 16oz draft beer. More expensive than most places but not enough to make me not go.

That doesn’t turn me away either. But a $9 10oz for a hidden hand IPA does.

I'm hearing once the taproom opens in Naperville they're going to have 3-5 dedicated taps to some OG beers - snaggletooth, butterfly, lu (I'm sure...), and I hope at least kidnapped/ravaged. I'm pretty much tired of hazy and all the pastry stouts, so this is good news. Regarding price points...Solemn has alway been slightly on the higher side. But, I feel if I'm dropping $23-24 for 3 beers, if $2-3 more is a deal breaker I probably shouldn't be drinking $7 beers then either.

Old Order Membership sign-up is up again. I already re-upped - regardless of how they run it, I'm in for the hangs. Looks like they're bringing a few ideas back from the old days this year, but also keeping the can format from recent years that's been nice.

Saw they're allowing pickups at SO or at the Still Life location in Chicago this year - that will be really nice.
