    Hey all,

I'm visiting my sister and her family in Albuquerque July 15-18. I've been to the Total Wine in Uptown but would like to know of any good bottle shops or other places to get stuff. I plan on visiting La Cumbre at some point but they said they sell out of bottles pretty quick in the taproom and I'd rather ship back bottles/cans rather than growlers.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Jubilation is mandatory, man. Not far at all from La Cumbre. Quarter's on Yale by the airport may have some gems but it's always iffy. Kelly's has locations all over town and they also have the occasional find.

Jubilation is really the way to go.

Also, Whole Foods on Carlisle will have what you are looking for.

Send me a message on here before your arrival and maybe I can show you around if you're interested.

I want to call our beer store scene very sporadic. I've seen some shops skip over current dank releases because they haven't sold out of a prior batch. I see some places sell out within a day. I've seen some places sell three batches at once (2-3 of one, 4-5 of another, and a case of their latest). I've seen Stone IRS 13 sit for 10 months after release. I still see Marble 2012 BBA imperial stout and reserve ale sitting behind their 2013 counterpart. I saw SF Kriek sitting something 7 months after every other place sold out of their allotment.

Your TW visit gave you a good idea of what we do and don't have. Freshness may be best at Jubilation for sure. But some odd ball gems may be had if you go to 4-5 other random places... As far as names, Kelly Liquors all over the city.

And I agree with ONovoMexicano, As far as current fresh items that may be local to NM, Jubilation and the Whole Foods on Carlisle are for sure to be great choices. That's to say you are on a time crunch, and just want to get a solid grab bag of items to send back.

Awesome, I appreciate the feedback. Sounds like I'll have to hit up Jubilation and maybe whole foods on Carlisle or a random Kellys Liquors. @ONovoMexicano, I'll send you a PM before I arrive. Maybe we can set up an IP trade if you want, got some good stuff here in Iowa. Might have some Toppling Goliath stuff available when I go down.

I'm just barely seeing this for some reason. Are you in town now?

I, too, will be going through Albuquerque later next month and this info has been very helpful. Thanks.

Me, too, in about two weeks. What is the status of Project Dank around town? Would it be better to hit the brewery or Jubilation and/or Whole Foods to land some?

With Project Dank released just about every two weeks (last batch had a bottled date of 7/12 and sold 7/15), if you time your visit to that release week, you should be okay finding some from the source. Ten days after release or so, it seems that Dank runs dry at the brewery.

But like I said above in my post above. Other places are very sporadic. I have seem TW (cottonwood) not have any Project Dank for two straight weeks in a row. Yet across town at the other TW, they had tons of Dank a week after its release.

Even so, other places will not sell out of a prior batch and only be selling that. There's a beer store in town that is currently selling the 6/29 Dank. For the most part, I have never seen the city totally dry of Project Dank. I haven't seen any crazy mass buyers from out of town smuggling it out of town just yet.

Email the brewery. Maybe they have a list of places in town that sell dank. I know a few gas stations who have started to carry dank... Also, as far as Elevated IPA, go right to the source for that. If you're lucky, minutes old or day old cans.. Other places are way more hit or miss on freshness (as far back as 2 months at some places).

I was at la cumbre brewery earlier today. Project dank is sold out on draft but they still had some bombers left. So it's really just a week by week thing. Sometimes they sell out within a week. Other times they are able to drag their allocation into the next release.
