Some help from the Twin Cities

    My niece is heading to the Cities to visit my sister in law and is willing to bring back some beer. She is not a beer person, so I will need to be fairly specific. Other than Overrated, what else is currently available that I should suggest she bring back. My sister in law is somewhat of a beer person and knows where the good stores are. Mostly looking for MN locals and other stuff that doesn't make it all the way to the Midwest. Thanks.

    When is she heading up to the cities?

    Looking at the brewers that are not distributed to IN, here are the ones that stand out to me:

    Central Waters - Peruvian Morning - fantastic, but have been reports (myself included) of infection. If you gamble and win, you will win big because it's fantastic when on.
    Clown Shoes - many available in bombers
    Epic - many available in bombers
    Fulton - The Worthy Adversary & War Peace (limited availability now) are both top notch
    Indeed - Day Tripper & Night Ryder are local favorites
    Lagunitas - Undercover Investigation is fresh
    Odell - IPA & Myrcenary (look for best by of late June/ Early May) are both fantastic. They are also coming out with Tree Shaker Peach DIPA very soon - very limited.
    Steel Toe - Size 7, Size 11 (fantastic) is due out soon - if she happens to see it, grab some and run!
    Stone - Enjoy by 5/17/13 is coming out this week - another must if she sees any
    Summit - Saga, EPA, Unchained - Organic Ale
    Surly - Pretty much anything is decent

    I was in the Cities last weekend and picked up Surly Overrated and Pentagram, Indeed Day Tripper and Schells Goosetown. Found Surly Smoke and Abrasive also, but had to save money to get some Assassin on the way home.

    Try Liquor Boy in St. Louis Park. They had a bunch awhile ago, but it was a spendy price tag. $26 if I remember correctly.

    Four Firkins had a lot of Abrasive left last week (last canning date of the season was 3/4...still plenty fresh IMO)
