I’m attempting to amass every single bottle they’ve released, and have a few questions.

First, can someone shed light on Sang Royal? I’ve heard that there’s two versions. One is the 2009 Project, and then one was just released in ’09. Am I correct on that?

Second, here’s the lists of what I have and need. Are there any beers I’m currently missing from there?

    Have:
    ’09 Apricot
    ’10 Apricot
    ’11 Blueberry
    ’09 Bourbonic Plague
    ’09 Cuvee du Jongleur
    ’07 Kriek
    ’09 Kriek
    ’10 Kriek
    ’11 Sang Noir
    ’09 Sang Royal (Project 2009)
    ’10 The Vine
    ’11 The Vine
    ’09 Vlad The Imp Aler

    Need:
    ‘08 Kriek
    ‘07 Blackberry
    Sang Royal NOT 2009 Project?
    Sang Rouge
    ‘08 The Vine
    ‘09 The Vine
    ‘08 Apricot

Thanks for any help you can be in clearing those things up for me. Prost.

I can't shine a lot of light on your questions but I was told the last Sang Royal was the '09 and the next one will be in 2015. There were only 9 bottles left when I was there a couple weeks ago.

Thanks for that info. I am going to talk to the brewery when I have a chance.

Any information on the types of beers you are offering in return? I know folks with some of the beers on your list but they are not likely to part with them for anything other than rare vintage beers. If you can give me an idea of the ammo you are willing to throw at this it would help. Good luck, and post pics if you complete your quest!

OP, you are correct on the release of sang royal. To my understanding it was released in 09 and last summer 2011(referred to as the 2009 project). Not sure of the differences beside 09 project has slightly higher abv and I guess had more barrel time I presume.

RE: Sang Royal, it has only been released in the bottle one time, in 2011. The beer in the bottle is from 2009, hence the 2009 project name.

The Sang Royal is set to be reproduced with a loose release date of 2014 /15.

The ONLY beer in the Sang series ( Royal, Rouge and Noir) that is released every year is the Noir, which up untill this year it was a draft only beer, but as of this year it has joined the others as a draft and bottle release.

They will also be bottling strawberry & figaro this year (little off topic, but would contribute to a complete set)... No release dates yet.

I seem to recall that last year's release of The Vine was draught only. '08 and '09 bottles don't have dates, but do have different ABVs. I think the '08 was ~9% and the '09 was ~8% but I could have those backwards. There was a previous release of Sang Royal, which I believe was released in 2009, and was aged with cherries in port barrels (instead of the recent Sang Royal which used cabernet grapes).

There was also a very limited release of 2008 Vlad.

I just got a bottle of The Vine at City Beer's 6th anniversary party -- pretty sure it was 2011 vintage, so it wasn't draught only.

Looked through some old e-mails to see the bottle count on the Vlad '08. Only 8 cases released 1-30-11. Also in my e-mail search, I see 8 cases of '08 Sang Royal was released on 3-27-11. Looks like you have a couple extra bottles to track down Matt.

    Hey Aedeos,

I tried to respond to your trade request from today but your inbox might be full or you might not be accepting BM's. Anyways, BM me, but I was going to offer:

I am interested in your trade offer and I am willing to add a bunch to get it done. I can do 2 XXIII's, 2 XXiV's, a 2010 Dissident, and a 2011 Abyss for the 375ml.

Also, regarding your Cascade vertical/horizontal, were you able to fill in the blanks? I think I have the missing bottles and would love to just join the tasting sometime next year. I think you are also missing the '08 Apricot as I had a bottle recently and I have 1 more. I believe I have the Sang Rouge and the older Vlad. I have had the 08 Vine, but I don't know if you can find another bottle. The one I had was unlabeled and given to the brewmaster at 50/50 Brewing. With age, it is amazing...I don't really care for the Vine fresh.

I got that trade done, but I'd be interested in talking with you about something else if you want. I have almost everything. All I have left is '08 kriek and '08 Bourbonic. I have the '08 Apricot and Vine. If you have '08 Vlad I'd love to talk.

Let me finish some convo's as my inbox is at or near capacity. I also have to get home to check on what I actually have vs what I think I have...
