The more sour beer i drink the more sour i want it to be. I'm not at the roof burning acidity state but i find myself less and less tolerating the sweeter sours. I suppose this would be similar to transitioning into hops for some. Furthermore I also find myself loving sour food and drink more. I find i don't like oranges, I want blood oranges. I don't want yogurt, I want kefir. Kombucha is becoming like water to me, etc... Has anyone else experienced something similar?

It only gets worse...or better...depending on how you look at it.

Had a Rodenbach Grand CRU over the weekend. Great sour for the price. Grabbed a Sour in the Rye, working my way up to it.

I find myself in the same boat, but with funk. When I first got into brett I liked the sofies and rayon verts, but now I find I want that funky, almost cheesey, brett funk. Mmmmmmm, funk.

I couldn't agree more. I still remember drinking my first sour (Lindeman's Kriek) in 1997. Loved it. Of course now I think it's cough syrup, but no worries; Cantillon, Drie Fonteinen, and Hanssens all make excellent Krieks.

I have been on a huge sour kick, bought a case of "Sour Power" which is just four variety packs of the same name. Love the Petrus "Pale", Monks Flemish Sour was a great place to start seems they changed the recipe some though, I had the Sour In the Rye, it was awesome, almost like sucking on a lemon but better. All sours, all day, gotta dive into some hop bombs and refresh the palate.

I am getting that way with bourbon barrel beers. Lately just not satisfied unless it is BA'd - coincidentally my bourbon/whiskey on the rocks intake has gone way up...

I stopped drinking IPAs years ago. Now I use hop cones like snuff.

Sour beers are delicious! My only complaints are they cost too much to buy from a brewer and they take too long to homebrew (9-18 months). I have six Cascade sours on order (with a free T-shirt  ), five gallons of Flanders red fermenting in the basement and thoroughly enjoyed a Lost Abbey Red Poppy today. Woot!

I'm with you on the Petrus, awesome sour! Store clerk tried to steer me to Monks Flemish Sour.....it was awful....did they really change it that much?

I'll drink anything from a Berliner to a sour that breaks rust free or dissolves a 16-penny nail in 20 minutes.

I've consumed many different sours, but never encountered one that was too sour. If you want to pucker up beyond what your sour provides, add a dash of citric acid. Be careful, a very small dash goes a long way.

You should be able to find it at a grocery store.

That damned petrus comes up in every sour thread. I still don't get it. If you can find it, crooked stave surette reserva. One of the best sours I've ever had.

When I first started branching out with craft beer, I picked up a bottle of Jolly Pumpkin, took a sip and promptly poured the rest down the sink drain. A few months later I figured it out and now sours(in general) are one of my preferred styles.
