I have a 2011 and a 2012 Sour in the Rye, but don't know which is which. One label is definitely a lighter shade than the other, though. Help?

I haven't had a chance to view the bottles side by side yet, but the new batch did seem to have a slightly darker label than I remembered, but that doesn't help much. I can say that my bottles of the new batch have the old plain caps, whereas I'm pretty sure last years had bruery logo caps.

Wasn't batch 1 a brewery only release? Thus the bottle I had did not have a upc logo. Batch 2 saw distro and has a upc logo. I could be wrong about b1 being a brewery only release.

If memory serves me, it was part of the initial package for the 2010 reserve society.

How many bottlings exist of Sour in the Rye? 2010, 2011, and the most recent? Is that correct? Or is the most recent release considered 2013?

2011,2012 and 2013 exist. For 2011/2012 label colors are slightly different, one is 7.8 and the other is 8.7 ABV, although off-hand I don't remember which is which. Not sure what the ABV is on 2013. 2011 batch #1 and was 1 per RS member so 700 bottles total, just like CR batch 1 and ISO:FT.

This is strange, as I recently purchased bottles in MA labeled 2011 and 2012, though I suppose the store just mislabeled 2012 and 2013 bottles. That said, the labels are definitely a different color.

I thought the Bruery sold bottles of what they called 2010 Sour in the Rye during the last 12 days of Christmas

I'm not sure where the 2010 confusion is coming from as from what I understand, the very first bottling was for RS 2011, 1 bottle per member. CR, ISO:FT, Melange #1 were also 1/member that year too if I recall. Maybe it being released so early in the year (Jan 2011) is causing confusion?

Also, the first "bottle" review on this site is by "billshmeinke" on 1-10-2011 as well. Reviews prior to that are on-tap.
