Before I put this up and get laughed off BA, can this land a blaeber? If it was a Sour Reserve #2 & a CBS combined maybe, or am I out of my mind. Is this thing that big of a white whale, or blue whale in this case? I have a Cantillon crate with like 15 different brews and its missing its champion.

Way off in my opinion. CBS + SR #2 won't be close for even a 375ml of Blaeber in my opinion.

It's my personal "Must try" beer too... (not one I'm looking to stick in a crate for collecting purposes)

I'm going to Denmark this summer, are their a lot of international traders? I never even thought of that. Thanks. FYI - the crate isn't for collecting Pokemon, it's for drinking and I have been drinking it, it's was more for humor / desription purposes. Did you wish Eric the actor a happy 38th birthday on twitter? Wait Nevermind, off topic

    Here's the thing:

    1) Euro traders don't give a shit about sours. American sours, even less so.

    b) Even with a stateside trader, Sour Reserve b2 wasn't that hard to get, provided you live in the greater Indy are and have some Chicago-like hustle (yeah, I went there). Sure, the count is probably around 300, but with three chances for area BA's to score and easy gaming of the system there are plenty of BA's holding onto multiple bottles. Hell, urbancaver bragged about leaving the Sour & Funk Fest with seven!

iii) Blend 2 is nowhere near as good as Blend 1.

FWIW, I've traded for about eight Sour Reserves at this point. The most I've given up for any batch was one Mimosa for two bottles of blend 2, straight up. All of the other bottles have run the gamut of Black Tuesday to quality shelf beers (over $4$, natch) to some of the early XV Anniversary barrel-aged beers. There are arguments to be made on both sides as to why it should or shouldn't trade for more than it does.

If you're looking for Blabaer, I'd say the easiest bet for you to score a BA Dark Lord next month. I know plenty of people who have traded their bottles straight up for 750mL Blabaer without even having to go int'l.

For the record, I'm an active Euro trader and I give a shit about American sours; traded me some Sour Reserve 2 recently in a package deal where I sent 2 Armand & Tomme for a bunch of Upland sours and a '12 Hunahpu.

If I had a 375 ml Blabaer we could definitely be talking, say for some early-ish batch Russian River sours...

Also: if you're just looking to sample it, you can usually order it by the glass at Mikkeller Bar. I hear its expensive but not crazily so.

All of that said, the TICKET limit was one per person with entry (tickets were $40 to the event). Cam offered people cash for tickets. It wasn't EASY to get but it wasn't hard. You had to reserve one online OR go to the event and be one of the hundred or so people who had the winning color.

Nate, are you going to the Funk Fest this year?

Thank you sir (did I mention your hair looked perfect saturday at rev). I got an extra BA Dark Lord too, maybe I should change that to CBS & BA Dark Lord.

Sounds like a plan, will it be worse then the 100 bucks or so I paid at akkurut for a fou foune?

I am beautiful; this is known.

True, but beyond the Fest, it's not hard to game the reservations provided you have plenty of friends/relatives who are willing to give you a photocopy of their driver's license.

If Sour Reserve b2 were released in Chicago, it would've been a complete shit-show at the brewery and on the forums. Newer guys would certainly have been asking for Cable Car.

basically I'm not a jagoff trader (though I am from chicago) and I ended up with two of these. Just wondering if there was some other nectar of the gods I was missing out on, otherwise I'll just drink it and continue to be a jagoff in real life.

You're not hoarding hard enough. I should take away your FIB status and banish you to Wisconsin.
