    Wow, serious bunch...

I ask questions to become better informed and thank those who give real feedback even if what they had to say wasn't what I was hoping to hear. Not sure why you feel the need to be a prick about it after the fact. Something tells me you don't have either of these beers and just wanna beat on newer users. Or do you think I cut in line in front of you somewhere?

And I'm not gonna take criticism about being 'uncreative' seriously from someone calling themselves 'bad trader.' Seriously, dude?

ok here is why people are pissed off. i am not pissed off and i think there are a lot of crybabies on this site and this thread in particular, but i can tell you why other people are pissed off from your original post. I also dont know if you are actually a real person:

1- you said you got a "few" SR3. This was a lottery whereby you had a chance to win one bottle. So you are openly admitting to cheating the system to get more than the intended allotment of a scarce product that the brewery intended to spread among as many people as possible. Now, this is largely hypocritical because i guarantee you that most of the people complaining on this post would buy 5 SR3 if they could afford it and the opportunity presented itself. However, your post made people jealous or angry or both, which brings us to BA lesson #1: although almost everyone hoards or would horard if they could, on the forums you should always sound like you put others before yourself and you never want more than a taste of every beer and also want as many other people as possible to try it rather than have a second sip for yourself.

2- Chicago- people in the midwest who dont live in chicago, generally hate chicago or like to act like they hate chicago. I am assuming that you know this if you are in fact really a person from chicago. In a beer specific context people seem to get really angry that people from chicago show up at releases, get all the beer, and generally act like jerks. This is stupid because obviously chicago has the most people and therefore the most money in the region so it really makes perfect sense that chicago buys the most regional beer. And along with having the most people means having the most jerks, so again this makes sense. however, dont tell that to someone who hates chicago, it will make their head explode. So, BA lesson #2: if you are from chicago, you will piss people off unless you act apologetic about it. See, similarly, the song North American Scum by LCD Soundsystem.

3- Trading: cmon brah! trading is all about being generous and trading a beer you have for something someone else has that you want. both parties should leave happy and not be concerned with stuff like "value." Clearly by asking if your beer can pull a very valuable beer, you are only looking to gain for yourself. Again, this is what you are supposed to say. This is obviously hypocritical because if there is no "value" in happy beer land then someone who wants a SR3 and has a rare will happily trade with you. further if you look at the trade forms, you will se that this website is full of people looking to get the most possible while giving up the least possible. Anyway lesson #3:dont be so blatant about your self interest. Even though people generally, in life and in beer, do act in their own self interests (how many BA's for example hoard as much of their own money as they can in their bank accounts instead of being generous and sharing?) you are supposed to be a little more subtle about it. Say something like "oh, gee gosh all ive ever wanted to do my whole life is try a sip of rare and i dont really have a lot of money and my buddy was going to bring one to a tasting but he died suddenly so would anyone like to discuss a trade involving rare?"

    cheers!

Very cool, daniloknezic. Thanks for taking the time to give some honest feedback instead of jumping down my throat like too many other people around here.

On SR3 - Yes, I was able to buy more than one bottle. I played by Upland's rules and got reservations for several SR's. Does anyone really think I'm the only one?? I think people are frustrated and venting on me because I'm the only person honest enough to say out loud that I have that many. And you're right it doesn't help that I'm from Chicago. Maybe if I was from Indiana I would've gotten a pass? Who knows.

On Chicago - Yeah, people hate on Chicagoans. Whatever. Wisconsin even has a term for us: f*cking Illinois bastards (FIBs). I love my city and when I joined BA I was like "nobody used Chicago yet??" Had to grab it.

On Trading - When you don't know something it's usually best to ask questions, right?? So I asked in the forum that seems made for these questions. I'd love to get a bottle of Rare and the only thing that I have on that level is SR3. All I asked was if it was doable. Signs point to no, whatever that's fine. But why is everybody instantly butt hurt when somebody new asks questions to get educated? In the future I'll try doing homework. Or if I still don't know I'll just guess and hope nobody thinks I'm asking for too much.

You didn't play by the rules. It was one entry per person. If you got multiple bottles then you entered multiple times using other people as mules. And just because you weren't the only one doesn't mean that it was right.

    1. You didn't play by the rules, but you did game the system. Congrats. It just annoys a lot of people. Of course you weren't the only one, but anyone that did what you did and came on BA telling the whole world about it would get shit on. If you don't understand that you should probably not post on BA. This shit isn't new information.
    2. There's probably a reason nobody picked Chicago before ... just sayin.
    3. Anybody who knows how to use this website knows there's a search bar. Going to ISO:FT and entering Rare into the search bar and pressing return would have let you know what Rare trades for. Don't look at ISO: Rare, look at FT: Rare (pretty obvious, but for some reason people don't understand that). That should allow anyone to understand SR3 is never going to land a Rare. As an alternative, if you had gone there and posted ISO: Rare FT: SR3 x3 you would most likely have gotten a deal done in a couple hours. Instead by posting here you have landed yourself on hundreds of people's I WILL NEVER TRADE WITH THIS GUY LIST.
Hope that helps, but probably not.

If you really want Rare and have that many bottles, I imagine you could get it done if you offered multiple bottles.

One of the best american wilds by far. The first two batches were very limited. And unless Rempo stalked you, or Modormongo married you in the 80s, you didn't get a bottle.

shut your mouth on tilquin.

I thought I'd hit the jackpot when Blend #1 was released. I friggin loved it and the ratings were in the high 80s soon after it came out if I remember right. I was hoping it would remain a sleeper that I could casually order and pick up at the brewery. Alas, 2 years later the rating is up to 97 and there's 2 pages worth of lottery-style release hoarding and butthurt. Glad I stocked up on trades when the gettin was good.

Although batch 3 might not be as rare as batch 1 or 2, it will probably be better tasting. Upland has been slowly dialing in the aging and blending of Sour Reserve batch by batch, and I wouldn't be surprised if b3 is the best yet (hopefully finding out soon ).

TLDR: Don't trade it, just drink it.

Based off the approximately 3,027 pours I had of it at Sour Fest, it is fantastic. Trade value for it is meaningless because it's too good to trade.
