I wouldn't say that Saison-Brett is sour at all. We employ the brettanomyces at bottling so you get more earthy/funky flavors. If someone were to order Saison-Brett expecting a sour beer, they would be greatly disappointed.

I'm not too well versed in Saisons but Apex Predator from Off Color was delicious and to me had a sourness to it, id tell anyone to give it a shot.

Orpheus atalanta is really good is well. You would have to trade for it

Got to try a Prarie Ale and HF Phenemology of Spirt which were both funky, slightly sour saisons. Both were excellent. The Hill Farmstead was one of the best beers I've ever had, and saison isn't one of my top style preferences overall.

You just described my gripe with saisons… unless there’s a good description I often don't know when I order one if I’m going to get something closer to a pale wheat or a sour bomb. I don't mind sour beers, but sometimes I have to be in the mood for them.

BFM 255 is amazing, if you can get it. Obviously, Ann by Hill Farmstead. Bernice by Sante Adairius is a glory. Rondy Brew by Anchorage is also delicious. Saison Premiere by De Garde. And Saison Surette Reserva by Crooked Stave. Prarie Merica.

Also, stuff from Upland, Side Project, Tired Hands.

    Pretty much it.

I did not see the sweet/sourness coming at all. Had this been the first saison I've ever had, I'd probably have a very misguided impression of them. Was a very fun surprise, though.
