The only brewery that I am aware of that uses the term of fresh hops for non-wet hops is Sierra Nevada. For every other brewery fresh hops = wet hops.

    Cheers!

I stand corrected on Born Yesterday. Probably the only wet hopped beer I've enjoyed and one of the best beers period.

After searching around the internet and some personal reflection on where my personal differentiation of wet vs fresh originated, I found that Sierra Nevada (as you and Jack mentioned) is the biggest name who uses these definitions. Personally, their definition makes sense to me (not that I matter). We all agree on wet, and fresh is arbitrary, but let's just say recently harvested and dried. One of the pages I found was this old forum post where a couple respected members (@jesskidden and @hopfenunmaltz) seem to advocate for separate definitions as well. https://www.beeradvocate.com/commun...esh-hop-how-should-these-terms-be-used.20342/

My apologies for taking your thread on a tangent.

Yep, cheap insurance but 2 day shipping at most. Good luck.

    ^^^ This.

And I hope that all breweries are using fresh hops, as opposed to stale ones. Unless they're making lambic-style beer, that is. And even then, those hops are aged and not necessarily stale, so . . .

By definition (mine ), fresh/wet hops are always whole cone, but whole cones are not always fresh (or wet).
