I haven't had a ton of sours, but I've got to go with Mother Funker...I got instant heartburn from that MFer!

Did you do it like me and take it down alone? How was the back of your throat after that?

Tart of darkness and La Folie were the most sour that I've tried. Avery makes at least one that is right there with them too if I could place what the name of it was.

I tried to take it down alone - I was at a pool party with BMC drinking friends. Between Festina Peches (my current drink of choice for pool drinking until someone else comes out with a reasonably priced fruited BW in a 4/6 pack of 12oz bottles), I opened up the Riserva. I made it probably 3/4 of the way through, but it was tough.

Well damn, I couldn't even find La Roja yesterday, let alone any of the others listed. No hannssens, no nothing, only rodenbach which I've had.
I did find a Jolly Pumpkin E.S. Bam, it wasn't too sour but it was more like a vinegar sour which was a cool difference than the others I've had. God, the head it gave...

    But yeah, couldn't find:
    Mother Funker
    Hanssens Oude Gueuze
    Jolly Pumpkin La Roja
    New Belgium La Folie
    Sang Noir
    Any Cascade
    Jackie O's
    Brown Recluse
    Dynamo Hum
    Funky Southpaw

But, at least now I know what to look for =)

Palm Beach County doesn't get any of those, except the very, very occasional Hanssens(and even then, not TW). Jolly Pumpkin doesn't currently distro to FL at all, thanks to Shelton basically pulling out.

You'll have to trade for most good sours, frankly.

Ah well, more motivation to trade. At least I can always get Cuvee de Rene =)
*Note to self, get a corkscrew*

Very nice tart and sour Berliner .... Tartare by bear republic, not sure if it in your area. Tap only.

    Petrus pale
    Rodenbach grand cru
La Roja I do not find too sour
    Bells oarsman is tart
    Supplication is amazing

    Enjoy

We just got Bear Republic, but no Tartare yet(hoping to get that one soon). Obviously no Russian River, and Bells' Oarsman isn't down here...yet, but should be in the near-ish future.

When did jolly pumpkin stop distributing to Florida?

When Shelton Bros pulled out of the state indefinitely(from what I've been told) . Bastards.

I've heard from reps from brown(fresh beer), and couple of shop owners, and other sources. It may not be a full, announced pull out, but definitely major reductions to our state on their brands.

That's a shame I really liked the E.S. Bam I got my mitts on.
Was hoping to try the La Roja.

We just got a few JPs over here in Pinellas County a month or so ago, so I dont think they've completely pulled out.

Not too experienced myself, but find cuvée des jacobins a tad more sour then rodenbach grand cru. I really enjoy the Flemish/Flanders red ales it seems. Should be easy to get too.
