Birrifico Del Ducato's My Blueberry Nightmare really did me in- from the yeast to the blueberries everything was screaming Sour and Acid and Vinerous. Really I would have been happy with a two ounce pour and not the twenty ounces I was given.

Hanssens Oude Kriek was the sourest sour I've had. My favorite though was Bruery Sour in the Rye.

1999 Belle-Vue Selection Lambic, absolutely brutally sour, I wish I could drink it again.

Love Child #4 was like drinking liquefied Warheads. Tasty though.

I don't drink a lot of sour brews so I'm not confident judging individual versions against the style, and I'm always reluctant to speculate about infection, but a year or two ago I had a Night Shift Somer Weisse that was so astringent and vinegary that I'm still not convinced there wasn't something very, very not-according-to-plan going on with it. I could feel my throat closing against it but kept taking sips and waiting to acclimate.

Eventually I'll see this beer on a shelf and give it another go, just to make sure. I like Night Shift stuff otherwise.

I'm drinking that right now and I will agree it smacks ya right away. Not the most sour for me, but definitely up there.

It's been said, but Upland's Kiwi Lambic is consistently the sourest sour out there for me... the others in their fruited sour lineup tend to have a few bottles per release that for some reason go crazy sour, while many (i'd say most) stay within the limits of balance while airing on the sour side.

Oude Tart and Petrus Aged Pale, nicely combining sour and flavor. Must try this Love Child though. When was #4 released and thus when will #5 be brewed?

Cascade Apricot Ale was the sourest beer that I've ever had. Just drank a Love Child #4 and the tartness isn't even in the same category.
