Getting on the sour bandwagon so where is some good places for sours in AZ, preferably Phoenix area. I know Total Wine probably has best selection yet what about on tap? Thanks!
AZ Wilderness for their own, the Attic is doing a Desthil tap takeover. ATAH usually has at least one sour on tap plus the usual suspects, Papago, WFM Chandler, and Tops often have sours in their tap rotations plus they have whatever bottles are available.
GCM has several bottles and if you ever get to Tucson, Tap and Bottle usually has several in bottle and one or two on tap.
Papago Brewing company man.. I was there today and they had a few on tap including La Folie. I brought home a Cerasus from Logsdon (kriek beer/flanders red) of which I am partaking at this moment.
and I will second Bigbelcher with the AZ Wilderness' BWBW (Bear Wallow Berliner Weisse). Funky as hell, but if ya want a sour, there ya go.
For bootles to go....Total Wine probably doesnt have a selection in the top 5. Certainly Papago brewing is first on this list and then Tops then GCM then Flannys then probabaly WF Chandler, I'd say But since your late to the sour party, as it were, you have to realize that now that peopel know (and more breweries are amking and distributing sours)many of the sought after ones go fast ...really fast Like, as in, you have to be there within a few hours of when the truck arrives if you want to score bottles. As for tap Angel's Trumpet has had some good stuff but fewer American sours/wilds. Yesterday Papago had 5 sours on and and 4 Belgian style beers on. I didn't count any in the bottle cooler.
