Package delivered in Selkirk New York.
Oh, Snap !
I was hoping to track down another sour want for my target before I ship, but alas those loons are elusive. I'll try to make up for my failure with another of his non-sour wants. I hope to pack up this weekend and ship early next week
As for my sender, I think I have it narrowed down to 5 possible
schwag box arrived, thank you Merc
who doesn't need a shirt that says Ass Clown. Plus new glassware!!!!!
I'm going to go out on a limb and say there isn't somebody else from my little-ass town in this BIF and it's probably me. I'm out of town at the moment but should be home tomorrow and I will post the haul as soon as I get a chance.
Merc also hooked me up with some super swag today, thanks a bunch!
...and Yes, it is an actual brewery. They were voted the 2012 North Carolina Brewery of the Year...and no one has ever heard of them (except me...muhahahahaha)
EDIT: I would have switched it up between both of you guys but that is classic swag right there.
Fujii13 likes this!!! He said he will pick up your box for you (and empty out all of the beer for Beer Diviner, Mendacino, and Olde Saratoga beers)(all great winners at Tap NY)
...was the package delivered or air dropped from a cargo plane.
I had to send a swag box out for another BIF...never heard of ass clown, but just placed an order -- Thanks for the idea :-).
I was looking for something interesting.
Fujii better keep his big ass away from my box of sour awesomeness. Fuck, now I want to drive home instead of waiting until tomorrow.... Luckily my dad will bring the box inside so it should be safe.
Holy balls!!! I just got home a bit ago and opened everything. It took a while because there was a fuck-ton of awesome beer but I'll get the haul up with pics shortly
Huge, Huge thanks to Bjohnston for the awesome boxes of beer. He decided the 12 bottle shipper wasn't enough and had to send a second box with a growler and another bottle in it. I may not be able to walk right for a couple days after this one.
Brewery Vivant Escoffier Bretta Ale- Looks good, this one is slotted for the next sunny day we get
New Holland Blue Sunday Sour 2012 & 2013- Wants
Avery 15th Anniversary Ale- Excited to try
Rivertown Lambic- I'm not familiar with Rivertown so I'm looking forward to giving these a try
Rivertown Old Sour Cherry Porter- That just sounds fucking delicious
Rivertown Ville De Rivere Geuze
Boon Oude Geuze Mariage Parfait 2009- Excited to try this with some age on it
New Belgium La Folie 2013- Permawant... I could not possibly have too much of this
Freetail Ananke 2012- Want
Against the Grain Growler (I'm not sure exactly what this is, but I love out of town growlers)
Upland Sour Reserve Blend #1- Are you kidding me... Huge want... I don't even think I had it listed as a want but I assure you, HUGE want
Upland Gilgamesh- Big want
Jolly Pumpkin La Roja Grand Reserve- Big want
I was really floored by this the generosity of Brian (Bjohnston)... we should really change the name of this BIF because "Sours for Dummies" is quite a stretch.
Thanks again sir
Innuendobrewskiman63, enjoy the beers. The growler is from a local brewpub that currently doesn't bottle. They are making some really good beers. The growler is a beer called Tickle Me Ale-Mo (I think it's their third sour or wild ale).
Description of the beer from their website:
"Today’s episode is brought to you by the number fart and the letter fuck.
Starting with a solid, but not unusual, red ale, we threw in some acidulated malt to tang it up a bit. We then took the tang way over the edge by adding a lactobacillus starter that began metabolizing the sugars to leave lactic acid and other pleasant, tart compounds. We then added just enough hops to balance the remaining sugars, boiled the brew to kill the bacterial
inoculation, and fermented with ale yeast. Post-fermentation we added French oak spirals for aging. The result is a tangy, spicy, tannic, malty deliciousness that will make you very happy.
ABV: 7.9% IBU: 22.0"
...with a desciption like that, how can you go wrong. And its educational too...my 3 year recently learned the letter Fuck...must have been from her mom.
Hint #1: My target lives in a state I've never visited (but always wanted to party there).
Hint #2: My target has recently been underwhelmed by Southern Tier.
Hint #3: My target is also participating in Cuzco's n00b BIF.
Hint #4: The sum of the digits in my target's zip code equals 20.
Hint #5: My target knows he is my target.
Been crazy here the last couple weeks, planning on getting my box out this week. Sorry about the delay to my target. I will try to make it worthwhile. Having a hard time tracking down the wants I thought I could get, may have to call a last minute audible.
Looks like My target is getting more beer than planned. Might be the largest haul I have ever sent to one person (myself included). Holy Crap this is gonna do some serious damage.
I have two targets and they both can suck it....but one will be sucking it sometime this week.
You'd like that wouldn't you
My target will be forced to drink Texas sours... poor guy!
I just got some stuff this weekend to put finishing touches on my box. Will be sending out probably next Tuesday to a BA who has posted more recently than myself in this thread.
I'll be stopping by Fedex today to drop off my target's box. 11 bottles of mostly sour goodness should land Wednesday or Thursday.
Planning on driving up to Elmsford after work on Wednesday to see if I can snag a bottle of something that rhymes with "Mosso e Rarrone"...
This should do it:
I think I'm the only one from MA, so this must be me I must have misinterpreted the major city population clue because I had eliminated you as a potential sender. Although I was pretty sure I was the only participant w/o a Loon on my want list. I agree that will change once I try my first
Well, it would help if I had done some due diligence. I made the assumption that Boston was in the top 10 in the US in population...it is not (as I am sure you know) . In any case...
Excellent I can't wait to get home from work. The late afternoon meeting I have scheduled is tormenting me
A box was delivered to Crystal Lake IL at 120pm earlier today.
Damn!!! Hindsight just demolished my porch. HolyShit man I'm speechless. Thank you very much. I'm suddenly feeling inadequate Please pardon my shitty photographer skills as they do not do this porch molestation justice
2012 Cantillon Vigneronne (Are you kidding me)
2013 Cantillon Kriek 100% Lambic Bio (Are you kidding me)
Killer Cantillon Glass
Bruery Tart of Darkness (only one I have seen locally, but have been wanting to try)
2012 New Holland Night Tripper (want)
2013 FFF Behemoth (want)
I'm blown away by your generosity. This is by far the best BIF box I've ever gotten. I can't thank you enough
Received - pics to follow once I finish the repairs...
Holy shit, merc7186 fuckin killed it!
Weyerbacher Riserva '12 ( perma want )

RR Consecration ( BIG want )
Cisco The Woods Monomoy Kreik
3f Schaerbeekse ( This one looks very familiar...... )
The Bruery Sans Pagaie ( The Bruery is always welcome at my house )
Captain Lawrence Rosso e Marrone ( very excited for this one )
Boon Gueze Mariage Parfait
Boon Oude Gueze
What a awesome box man, I cant thank you enough!
It is too bad that my other target is getting all shit beers. LOL. That 3F Schaerbeekse is a HUGE favorite of mine...San Pagaie is also one of my favorite Bruery beers, I am a Bruery whore.
I have also been getting a lot of The Bruery stuff lately, I havent had that one yet but I cant wait to try it.
The box you sent the beers in was real nice with the exception of one thing: I don't think its gonna be big enough for the haul I have going over here for you.....
I dont mind two boxes
EDIT: I have a sick amount of Bruery beers and I am now forcing myself to start working through them because the collection had gotten over 60 different beers from them.
Bruery Reserve Society Member.
Membership has its benefits I bet you can smell the jealously from there.
Glad you enjoyed it!
You sent the thing about 45 minutes to far south
Out for delivery!
Somebody with a business address in Indiana should be getting some beer today
I like the state you mention, but dislike the "business address" part
