We feel the exact same way about Cigar City.

Damn...no cash today just moved this week.
I need to behave and just buy jai alai this weekend.
Ah well, there will be more in the future I'm sure.

Also...WTF It's Thursday. And I've never seen a 3F at total before, didn't even know they got them.

Dude, seriously. It's awesome. I'm so spoiled by their beers. I think the Nib Smuggler bottling is only going to be like 300 count and I've had that beer so many times, I'll just deal any bottles of it I get. I did the same with MBCP. I'm not a huge fan of No Crusts (amazing nose, though), but I'd probably keep a Last Snow bottle to split with friends though. That beer is just too good. The Passionfruit Berliner too. I'd stack that beer against any US-brewed Berliner.

Ryan mentioned last time I was there that something barrel aged is in the works for bottling down the road. Hopefully, in a few months. He told me the beer but I can't remember what it was. Wasn't a stout, it was like a brown ale or something. I want to say it was 1.21 Gigawatts or something like that.

Why they would BA anything other than Last Snow is beyond me.

The Oude Gueze has been at Total Boca for a while now, it wasn't even behind the counter when I found it originally. But yeah, I totally WTF'd too when I saw it. They were in the lambic section near the Timmerman's, Lindeman's, etc, not even in the limited release area. Just like any other shelf beer, it was weird. The OG was like 13 bucks and the Kriek was like 18 or 19. They're the corked mini bottles.

Probably because you can BA any goddamn thing now and people will flock to it. So you can save and do a legit batch of Snow and then BA something else. I'd shit a brick if they BA'd Snow for Founders though. I'd be going straight to TG beers for that.

    Damn that's expensive!
And here I was complaining about the price of a bruery sour...which honestly are better than any 3F I've had.
Oude Gueze and Intense Red have nothing on Oude Tart and Tart of Darkness.

Sour Cherry OT is my favorite Bruery sour and yeah, I'd probably say I dig it over 3F OG. But I'm not sure I'd say I like regular OT over it. And last time I had Tart of Darkness, it was too sour for me, but that was a few years ago. I should try it again actually.

From a Jan 24 New Times interview with Ryan from Funky Buddha

You just successfully issued your first bottle release. What's next?
We'd like to do at least one small-scale release every month. What we just did with the Maple Bacon Coffee Porter, we'll probably do once a year. We just signed the papers for a new bottling line, which we'll get in June or July. In the meantime, we're planning on a Nib Smuggler release with 200 to 300 bottles -- we did 3,000 for the Maple Bacon -- and we'll do barrel-aged releases.

I'm in the same boat, this is my rent week and gonna stick to Jai Alai as well for the weekend! Good to know they are starting to get some JK though!

I passed on a bottle of it today. The price scared me away... $13 I believe?

I always peer over the counter or outright ask, because they'll often let gems like this slip by unannounced.
