If I lived in Austin, I would be at JK every other weekend with their amazing rotating list and guest kegs a-plenty.

The bottle isn't dated - at least I can't find one. I'm sure it is a 2011 though.

Did manage to get some 2012 La Folie today at HEB.

Meant to reply to you. As you can see '12 is pretty visable. From what I remember this years has an actual label and years past were silk screened on the bottle.

I meant the Le Terrior doesn't appear to be dated. Yes. the La Folie label looks like that with the 2012. It's silk screened on the bottle.

Ah! Some one correct me if I'm wrong, but Le Terroir has only been released twice. Once in '09 and again in '11.

Headed out there this weekend for the first time and sure to head back some more, can't wait to try the barrel aged Comercial Suicide.

I saw that, just when I think I have had all the versions of their beer they get even more experimental. Be sure to get there early, that place is getting ridiculously popular. Enjoy!

I had sour Commercial Suicide at the 1st anniversary and I am not sure if my taste buds were blasted but that beer was all sour with none of the Commercial Suicide that I remember. I would like to try it again with a clearer head. I also could tell no difference between Boxer's Revenge and Das Wunderkind so I think I was not a good judge of taste by that time!

Hmmm I didn't taste Das Wunderkind! and Boxer's Revenge side by side but do think they taste quite different (Wunderkind being more light and citrusy, Boxer's being more earthy, vinegary). Haven't had any version of Comercial Suicide. Also looking forward to Noble King, Petite Prince and the Sour Black Metal.

The few times I have went to a JK tour there was about 15-20 people there. Events are mad houses though. I believe Ratebeer is having a tasting there this weekend, so expect more people than a usual Saturday.

By the time I made it to any JK beers that day, I had indulged a little much. Had six notches off my wristband, and couldn't tell you anything I had past the third. It was my first big bottle share like that, and a learning session for me. My favorite JK beer to date is the Boxer's revenge, fortunately I have had the chance to try all the "regular" offerings on more sober days. I sure hope we see more Jester King bottles in the future.

Thanks, I think we'll plan on getting there fairly early, sometime between 1 and 2.

At the 1st Anniversary party they also had a sour Black Metal, which was amazing - man, I'd love to see that one in a bottle!

How well do sour beers age? I snagged more of that La Folie and figured I'd sit on some for awhile.

Most wild ales age well. La Folie is now pasteurized so I'm not sure it will have the same benefits from aging as non-pasteurized sours.(like Russian River, Cantillon, Jolly Pumpkin, or Drie Fonteinen) Older vintages were not pasteurized.(C&C version) Sitting on it shouldn't hurt it though. I'm not too familar with this subject, so I hope someone else chimes in with a better answer for you.

Nice pic. My gf loves sours and hates almost everything else I crack open.
