    Fixed your pic...

If you are in SA, it's on draft at Flying Saucer right now. I was never into sours, but I really like this.

I rarely like a bottled beer more than its draft counterpart, but I think this is notable example - definitely above average sour brown, especially for Texas shelves...

Anybody else think La Folie is a bit too pricey for what you get? I bought a couple bottles a while back and haven't had the urge to revisit it...primarily because of the $15 price tag. It's just everytime I think about grabbing a bottle the thought that I could grab a 4 pack of Tenfidy or 2 4packs of Hop Rod for about the same price keeps me from buying it. It's good, don't get me wrong, but paying $15 for a NB bomber...I don't know maybe it's just me.

I agree, but wilds tend to carry a heavier price tag. Since its one of the best sours available in Tx I'd gladly pay for it. I just wish I didn't have to drive 2.5hrs to get it.

It truely is. I will go home this evening and sit on my throne of Black Butte XXIII cases and weep. Then I will post something making fun of jl28r1 to raise my self esteem. I think I will be ok. Tomorrow will be a better day.....I hope.

Thanks for fixing the pic. Posted it from my IPad last night, and it didnt give me the option to embed.

Stopped by Specs and picked up another bottle today. $13.99 with the cash discount. Still steep for a bottle, but I'm putting this one away for a little while to revisit at a later date. To me, I like sours so much, its worth it. Its not resting comfortably next to the 2 bottle of Wunderkind I have.

Hey Glen, we might all get together at Freetail tonight to enjoy some sweet brews you should stop by! :grinning: You can make fun of me in person!

Thanks but I will be elbow deep in car repairs tonight. Repairs that will allow me to grace you with my presence on March 3rd. I'm in the process of having glossy 8X10 headshots printed to help everyone cope with those long lonely Glenless tastings. At the very least I will send a broken Abyss bottle neck. My weapon of choice.

Can the 8x10s be of your Avatar? I'm sure everone would rather look at that creepy dude anyway.

We got screwed royally on the Black Butte XXIII in Austin. The distributor didn't get any for us. I have 2 bottles that I'm sitting on because I had them shipped from out of state. So almost everywhere else in Texas got it but not us. I was lucky enough to get a couple pours on tap @ the Draughthaus.

I still can't believe the distributor refused the allocation. I can look around my stash and see what I have left if your interested.

I scored a bottle from a relative in Houston, but the rest of ATX is SOL.

But on a happier note, I was glad to score a couple Old Rasputin XIV this week...wasn't expecting that to make it to shelves.

Wow, I had no idea Austin got screwed. Black Butte was still on shelves at the end of December in Houston.

Yup. I was in Houston for my son's football tournament in December and picked up several bottles at a Specs there. NEVER saw it in Austin

It would still be on the shelf locally if I didn't get tired of seeing it every day.

Just wanted to let y'all know we went out to JK today and it was awesome, I already wanna go back next weekend... They had already kicked the Comercial Suicide before we got there (there were kind of a lot of people) but they put on Sour Black Metal in place of it and it was really good, especially when compared with their regular Black Metal, I ended up getting 3 pours of it. Also tried everything else they had on tap that I hadn't had yet (Noble King, Le Petit Prince) all delicious. Went on the tour and it made me appreciate them even more as a brewery, saw several kegs of Weasel Rodeo in their barrel room, really pumped to try that. Also, it is really beautiful out there. If you haven't been yet, go!

We went out to JK as well this weekend. Love the both the sours. Pretty neat how much of their enclosed space is dedicated to barrel aging (prob 1/3). How many people have y'all caught trying to steal something out of there? Nice relaxed property. Our daughter enjoyed chasing the dachshund around. Glad to have such a great brewery locally.
