Hey guys, I know I already posted a topic about a local sour in Raleigh/Durham a little while back, but now I am looking for sour beers that are either from NC or distributed here. I just had my first NB La Folie the other night and I absolutely loved it. Any other good suggestions that are pretty readily available in NC (particularly in the Hickory area)? Thanks ahead of time for any answers!

    Cheers,
    Eric

Sours are pretty hard to come by in NC. My recommendation would be to find a trading partner on the west coast, and hook them up with some great NC beers that they can't get out there for some Russian River sours. Consecration, Supplication, and Temptation are all great.

Damn, I was hoping I wouldn't have to unload my arsenal that I have in my cellar for some west coast sours...do you know what it would take to land some of those that you mentioned?

boon oude geuze, oud beersel oude geuze, lindemans cuvee rene. average or above for gueuze, but these would be near the top if they were american wild ales. in the style of la folie: goudenband, petrus aged pale, bellegems bruin, monks cafe, petrus oud bruin, bacchus, bourgogne de flandres. similar to those: rodenbach, panil barriquee, duchesse de bourgogne, zoetzuur, vichtenaar, echt kriekenbier. these should be not too difficult to find.

I'd love to get my hands on some sours. I know City Bev. in W-S has a few, but not a wide variety

Rodenbach Grand Cru and Timmermans Oude Gueuze LE are a couple decent options available most everywhere. New Holland Blue Sunday if you can still find it. I would just stock up on La Folie.

Unless you're looking for beatification, you don't have to do any arsenal unloading. They're just pricey like 10-14 bucks a bottle but you can land them with your locals...or buy them online from some stores and get them shipped to you.

ninja edit- That's for RR sours like consecration, sanctification, temptation and supplication
