It doesnt look like any of the Hy-Vee's have Furious on tap right now you can see what is all on tap at every Hy-Vee via Growler Station website http://growler-station.com/find-a-station/state-results/?state=SD

Fogies posts their Growler fills here: http://fogiesliquor.com/

    JJ's is here: http://www.siouxfallswine.com/draft-beer-to-go/

BB's might have Furious it looks like: http://www.bbspubngrill.com/beer---daqs.html

JL's beers lists there taps online too but I dont really consider them they are probably the most expensive of the bunch.

Awesome post. Now to watch if anything changes...
Do I get Raspberry Jam for the heat, Ten Fidy in a growler to fall over or Cocao Bender because I can finally take that beer home?

I guess I forgot to add JJ's is about the only one where they usually have a set change of some taps and they usually release the new list on Friday's. Fogies seems to keep their list pretty set for a week or more as it doesnt seem to change for a couple weeks at least so I dont think they do a lot of growler fill volume just guessing.

Taylor's Pantry is another place I always forget that does growler fills I think you can find their list on facebook usually.

Booze Boys sells growler fills as well but they dont post what they have online.

Wow Cacao Bender I am glad somebody likes that it is way too coffee grounds flavor for me I guess. Not a coffee fan for sure but I am slowly drinking down a case of Founders Breakfast Stout which was $19.99 a case at Empire Hy-Vee and Taylors a few weeks ago.

    JL Beers on Phillips has several Surly beers on tap now. Monk's has Furious;

I like JL, and overlook their prices due to their excellent selection and best burgers and fries in town. No idea on growler prices, haven't gotten into growlers yet.

JL has awesome food but their pours are on the high side but I do have one or two when they special releases. I never consider them for growler fills because you almost have to take out loan compared to all the other growler fills spots in town. So yeah if you want to overpay for growler fill by all means consider JL.

Coming up to SF next month for a wedding. Coming from Kansas City. Looked on seekabrew for distro. Looks like Surly makes it to SF, do you get much stuff from Central Waters &/or Dark Horse. Those were the 3 I saw that I don't have access to here in KC. As said above looks like HyVee is solid place to snag some brews?

We get central waters and more Dark Horse in my opinion. Hy-Vee by the empire mall is probably my favorite place. I know some will say it isn't a "local" shop but hey they usually have a solid selection at decent prices on the normal stuff. I like JJs as well just a little farther out of my way but they do have more selection and comparable pricing to Hy-Vee.

Dark Horse we get all the regular stuff crooked tree, safety meeting, plead the 5th, Scotty karate. I am not as huge of a central waters fan really have only enjoyed their bourbon barrel stout so I am not as up on all the central waters stuff we get.

If you like founders coffee stout there is a good chance they will still be selling cases of breakfast stout at empire Hy-Vee for 19.99 they reloaded it looks like and have at least 30-40 cases I would guess.

Thanks for the reply Eric_H. I've had some on the Central Waters regular stuff and its ok, was hoping for some barrel aged stuff. They have Breakfast stout down here as well, but $19.99 is quite the deal. Will be staying downtown at the Country Inn & Suites for the wedding.

The two best places for Central Waters BB beers are Taylor's Pantry at 41st and Minnesota (SE corner), or Fogie's Liquor at Marion and 57th (SE corner). Right now you may still be able to find Bourbon Barrel Stout, Bourbon Barrel Barleywine, and Bourbon Barrel Cassian Sunset stout. Bourbon Barrel Scotch Ale could appear any day ago. The BBS and Cassian are two of my favorite beers, not so much a fan of the barleywine. Hy-vee may also have CW, don't recall.

i used to like the Central Waters barrel aged stout more but when comparing it to probably my favorite BA beer Goose BCBS it does feel like a knock off. I am fairly certain at least the Hy-Vee behind the empire mall had Cassian left still not sure about the bourbon stout. I really didn't like the Cassian at all had one pour of it at Monks downtown. Another place I always forget is Booze Boys on 10th street close to downtown has a reasonable craft beer selection and stuff seems to stick around there longer. I know they had a couple central waters bombers last night but cant remember what they were I think one was the chocolate porter?

If you are staying downtown and have time you should check out Monks it is the best craft beer bar in town. one of the JL beers is downtown too they are ok a little pricy but food is reasonable and great burgers.

I know right it works out to like 90 cents a beer after tax. I don't even really like it that much since I am not a coffee fan but I had to buy a box when they first had the deal a few weeks ago. I told people from work and one guy bought like three cases and two more for his sons. I will slowly drink it down over the year. Seems like it is only at the Empire Mall Hy-Vee though. I was in there last night and maybe four or five boxes are gone they still have to have at least 30 or more. They are selling four packs for $3.99 if you don't want an entire case.

I grabbed the last Surly Ten from empire hyvee last night Booze Boys on 10th still had four left late last night if anyone is still looking for some. I was looking for BA Scotty Karate which I found at Taylors and MN Hy-Vee which were all out of Ten as well from what I could tell.

holzwama - Just got back from Taylor's Pantry and the Hy-vee on Minnesota - both had several CW beers but no Bourbon Barrel at this point. So try Fogie's - I know that on Wednesday they still had BB Cassian Stout and BB Barleywine. Don't know of any BB Stout left in the area. BB Headless Heron pumpkin bombers are showing up already. And try Hy-vee by the mall as Eric says.

Eric - Taylor's has BA Scotty BTW, just saw it there. At the North end of the singles rack.

Thanks bbtkd I found it at Taylor's yesterday too was bummed none cold I wanted one last night! After that I saw MN Hy-Vee had it cold same price. I had one tonight and I loved it but I love regular so I figured I would like the BA. Definitely not a strong barrel flavor I get vanilla smell and flavor.

I drank a bottle of Surly ten last night too probably a little too sweet for an entire bottle it is good but in moderation I think. Not sure what to think of aging it either if the sweet dies off a little I think I might like it more. I love Darkness because it is sweet with a little hop but the ten sweet is different more overpowering I think and not much hop at all.

So I wasn't crazy either I think Booze Boys on 12th st had the Central waters Headless Heron bomber already too. I think they had the chocolate porter bomber left too. Headless Heron I don't like not a pumpkin beer fan at all.

BA Scotty sounds a bit like Backwoods Bastard, which I like, so I'll have to try it. I'm hoping to bag some Darkness later this year, sounds good. I like the idea of a good pumpkin beer, but haven't found the perfect one yet. I tried Headless last year before I developed a taste for bourbon barrel, so will try it again. It's great to have some excellent regional options like CW and Surly.

I think Backwoods Bastard had way more barrel flavor so just a fair warning if you liked that BA Scotty had way less barrel flavor. I saw discussions about this online and most people don't think Scotty was in barrels maybe more than couple months. I liked it more than Bastard I like barrel flavor but something about Bastard I just didn't care for maybe it's just scotch ale barrel aged that much tasted weird to me.

Oh man if you have never had Darkness you are in for a treat. I hope to get to darkness day again that is awesome. Darkness is my favorite Surly beer and Russian stout just right amount of sweet mixed with a little hop bite. Doesn't have the tobacco taste a lot of other like Russian stouts I have had.

I am staying downtown at the Country Inn & Suites. Looks like Monks is right by my hotel. Will have to do a search to see where the above bottle shops are in proximity to my location.

Take 8th St West to Minnesota Ave, go south on Minnesota and watch for Hy-vee on the left about 2 mi South. They have a decent selection in the liquor store on the North end. Then go 2 blocks South to Taylor's Liquor at the SE corner of Minnesota and 41st. After that, go West on 41st to Western Ave, South on Western, go over I-229, past 57th and do a U-turn to get around the island, then take the first driveway on your right to get to JJ's, by Starbucks. After that then go West on 57th, and in a couple of miles you cross over I-29, turn left at the next light, going South on Marion Rd, then an immediate left into the mini-mall lot where you'll see Fogie's. If you reverse that route you'll drive by JL Beers (taproom) on your left, just South of Scheel's on Western. Then around the front of the Scheel's go 2 doors West and you'll find Taphouse 41. Hopefully you're not on foot.
