Heading down to the keys soon and I'm curious what's available craft beer wise on the way down on in Fort Lauderdale/Miami. I'm considering picking up some growlers at Funky Buddha. Anything else worth stopping for?

Stop at Due South in Boyton Beach for some growlers as well. They are awesome.

Thank you! Any chance in getting J Wakefield stuff?

Not really. He has been in Tampa these days and his brewery won't be open for a while. I'd check out Wynwood Brewing Co as well in Miami, they just opened this month. Solid beers, but I'd make Buddha and Due South a priority if I had to choose at this point.

Depending on where you're coming from, I recommend Tequesta brewing company. In my opinion, they're much better than Due South

I live in Islamorada and I can tell you the Keys are pretty much a beer wasteland. I'd definitely stop at Funky Buddha for growlers.

I'd disagree. Right now their pumpkin ale, wet hop ale, and pico duarte imperial stout, and oktoberfest are on tap and are all pretty solid. Their new stuff has gotten a lot better. Give them another shot.

If you stop in to Funky Buddha on a Tuesday, sometimes they will put a limited release beer on the growler station. Their limited release beers are better than their "house beers" that they always have on growler IMO. This is what they have on growler all the time. Out of those IMO the best are Hop Gun and OP Porter.

    Floridian Hefeweizen - 5.6%
    Hop Gun IPA - 7.7%
    OP Porter - 6.3%
    Doc Brown Ale - 6.4%
    Missionary Blonde Ale - 5.1%
    Red Dawn X Red Ale - 5.4%

I continue to get them another shot, and I will again, but I haven't seen much improvement overall. Taste is subjective, of course.

That's good to hear because i've heard nothing, but bad reports of late.

Just following up on this post. I have to say we were really unimpressed by Funky Bhudda. The taproom is enormous and the brewery is cool, but the beers were all "meh". The flagship IPA was ok though. Also stopped by Due South which has a unique tap room and decent beers.
