What is the deal with this years release, I hear that a different beer made it into some of the bottles. Is this true?

What was the bottle count and what were they in years prior?

I tried to search but couldn't see any previous threads about what they traded for, recently. I am interested in getting a bottle but not sure what people would want/expect...

Any help on the above questions would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Some of this year's bottles were filled with Southampton Black Raspberry Lambic instead of the Imperial stout.

    In 2009 450 bottles
    In 2010 500 bottles
    In 2011 650 bottles.

Always $15. Not sure about the older vintages though.

As this is a brewery-only-sells-out-in-one-day release, expect to give up something similar and with a similar bottle count. However, trades for SH IRS, from what I've seen are pretty easy to pull off since people often are able to get multiple bottles (small release, little hype) and therefore have a good amount to trade for. People usually go to the IRS release to get the "other" bottles that are released with it.

650 bottles just like last year however bottles 474-499 are the ones that were filled with a different beer (supposedly BRL). Otherwise delicious as always. Not sure what they trade for but probably something brewery only I'd imagine. Cheers.

Funnily enough, the ones that are "mis-filled"... ie. filled with Black Raspberry Lambic are probably more "valuable" than the ones filled with actual IRS!

Since the OP got his answer already, does anyone know about the earlier vintages of the IRS? Bottle count? Cost? And what was the first year it was made? I've been half-heartedly trying to get 2x 2008 and 2007 vintages with no luck but I want them to complete 2 verticals since this is my "local" brewery-only release.
