South Haven MI & surrounding areas

    I'm taking a trip to South Haven, MI in early June. I found a thread from 2014 so it is somewhat outdated. Looking for any sort of recommendations on bottle shops, pubs, breweries etc. in the nearby area as well as places up to an hour away (Founder's in Grand Rapids/Saugatuck Brewing). Thanks for any help!

    Joe's and brix are going to be your best bar selections in town... both can have pretty good beers on tap (occasionally very good). Best boutlet shop in town is definitely the depot. As for breweries; greenbush and the livery are fantastic and both within about 30 to 40 minutes. If you go to grand rapids I would say founders, hopcat, and vivant. Kalamazoo- bells, arcadia, and the beer exchange. Holland- new Holland, big Lake, and hops at 84 east. Cheers

    The livery is close by and makes very solid beers. There sours when available are some of the best around. Another solid brewery that is probably about 30 minutes or so away is Arclight in Watervillet. They have been upping their game and do a variety of styles very well. I also have heard that Arclight is canning some of their beer now as well and believe they may be available at the brewery

    The above two posts pretty much say it all, but if you want to make a full day of a trip to GR, consider adding Perrin to your list to visit, and if you go to the Kzoo area, add Latitude 42 to your list there. Siciliano's in GR is probably the best store in West Michigan.

    Don't forget about Saugatuck brewing just a quick 15-20 minutes north of south haven.
