I have to go there for a work trip in mid January. I won't have a car and am interested to know of any good spots to grab some drafts. Also, any good food joints? Bottle shops I should check out?

One Trick Pony in nearby Lansing would be an excellent visit.

I know you mentioned not having a car, but you'll be very close to Munster, IN for Three Floyds. You might be able to find a gracious BA to give you a ride if you post more info. Unfortunately public transit in the area is seriously lacking.

South Holland is dry, so you will have to go outside the village. Agree on One Trick Pony. Torrence Liquors in neighboring Calumet City has a great selection.

Check out Maple Tree Inn in neighboring Blue Island, IL. They always have an awesome tap list and amazing Louisiana style food.

Yeah, staying there with no car is rough.
