Am I alone in thinking that South Jersey has awful distribution?

Whether a beer is a year-round/seasonal/limited offering, SJ tends to get fewer shipments and at later dates.
For most recent examples: Sierra Nevada Otra Vez wasn't seen around the Camden/Gloucester County stores for months, but I would see it north of Burlington county. Firestone Walker Anniversary/Barrelworks beers just seem to pop up at random making them difficult to find/obtain, but even their year-round selection isn't selling unless it's already 5 months old. Stone's Xocoveza was being sold as 1 bottle pp if it wasn't already sold out, while again north of Burlington would sell sixers without a problem. Imports also tend to be slim pickings from breweries like Alvinne, Beersel, or BFM.

What I really don't understand is why this seems to be an issue at all. From my journeys through New England this wasn't a problem. So why would such a densely populated state that lies between two major cities get shafted?

Who can I redirect my angst towards? Some minimal google researching has left me with distributors that don't seem to list any of the breweries I mentioned. Would talking to shop owners bring any benefit? Do you experience this frustration outside of SJ?

Don't necessarily disagree with you...but I do often come over to S. NJ to find some beers that I cannot find in Philly. Both areas are sub-par to other areas of the country when it comes to distro IMO.

You're dealing with 3 different distributors with those 3 brands - depending on actual county (and your definition of "South" Jersey) Sierra Nevada is carried by a MillerCoors house & Firestone-Walker is out of an AB wholesaler, while Stone is distributed statewide by Hunterdon.

I know SN's website lists their NJ distributors, FW might & both Stone & Hunterdon sites mention Stone's NJ distribution.

Our distro sucks in South Jersey. Had to travel over the city for Ballast Point Victory at Sea, because they didn't have six packs of it here.

Shore area and Central/North NJ seem to get more of the good stuff, in my experience, but is also more picked over. I found Peppermint Victory At Sea (10 bottles) just hanging out weeks after release at some random liquor store in SJ - in Ocean or north (most of what I see) it was gone in hours/days. Maybe a product of more population density there? I know NJ is the most densely populated state in the US, but SJ is the least densely populated part of NJ.

Considering that Monmouth County alone has approximately the same population as Boston, Seattle or Denver It's easy to see how the 60 or so bottles of the Firestone Walker Barrel Aged that show up here are lucky to last afew hours.

Our distro is terrible in SNJ. I'm sure it's worse in other places, but it is definitely a joke here.

What's the local beer availability in SNJ, specifically, like Vorhees,Mt. Laurel.... I read once that Kane does not distribute (or at least not heavily) but does Carton, and can they be found in SNJ?

I recently moved to Moorestown and can speak a little on the surrounding area. I've never seen Kane in anything but draft form in SNJ and Carton can also be found commonly on draft but cans are rare.

Theres a Canals that gets some Carton cans from time to time (West Deptford?) and Roger Wilco in Pennsuaken will sometimes get small allotments of cans but they go very fast. Within hours of arriving most of the time.

Additionally, Roger Wilco in Pennsauken always seems to have at least one beer from either Kane and/or Carton on the grolwer/crowler station at all times. Over the summer they got a few kegs of Kane Citra Hop Lab.

You can usually find both Kane and Carton at many local eateries that are purveyors of craft beer. Farm and Fisherman in Cherry Hill always seems to have both.

I'll be down that way this weekend. Are there any places that do crowlers? I'll be mostly between Exit 3 and Vineland, but may be able to make a side trip.

I haven't been down here too long. The only place that does crowlers that I know of is Roger Wilco in Pennsauken. Good selection too. Occasionally will have Glasstown as well.

Welp they have Carton Cosmonaut on the station. Gotta make a trip tonight!

Tonewood Brewing and Village Idiot do Crowlers and are somewhat near Exit 3 on the Turnpike.

Ott's Bottlestop in Medford has Crowlers as well. This is a slight detour from your route.

Thanks a lot. I'll look at the map and see what I can make work.

I also plan on hitting up Clayton Liquors, who seems to have a good selection of locals at the growler station. But this is just one of those times when a crowler is preferred.

I used to love living in South Jersey when I could reliably get Carton cans on a weekly basis. Now...not so much :/

Hey, I live on the other side of the same county as Carton and can't get it reliably now either. Used to be able to bop into Joe Canal's, grab a case out off of their stack in their walk-in and walk out. Now, when the local shop does get it, I hear about and if get there in time, I'm limited to a single 4 pack. Kinda hard to "drink local" when you can only have 4 cans of beer every 4-6 weeks or so...
