Good to hear. Brewery 304 is another recommendation as well as Neighborhood in Hongdae are. Best pizza in Seoul and all Galmegi beers on tap.
Any good stuff near the Incheon airport? In the area for a long layover and don't have much time to venture to the mainland
Damn, just reading this. The Cinder is in the airport area. They have 2 locations, the other is in Incheon just over the bridge. I’ve never been to the airport side location but been a few to the city bar. Hard to find online. Sorry.
Back from yet another trip with to Seoul. We spent 6 days this time. She and her shopping and me on my beer runs with some shopping with the wife. We stayed at the Ramada Hotel/Suites in Namdaemun. This is our usual go to place. Day 1-Visited Magpie Brewing Euljiro (good beers, good pizzas) after meeting up with the wife as she was doing her shopping. We ended up ordering 2 pizzas as they were small and pricey. I been to their other location in Itaewon on a previous trip. Day 2- first stop was Euljiro Brewing (decent to good beers). Loved the decor inside and outside. A minute walk from Euljiro is The Ranch Brewing (okay beers). Another 5-7 minute walk is Ggeek Brewing. One of my favorites with their IPA’s and experimental beers. Very hard to find. There located on the 2nd floor. Day 3- Art Monster Ikseodong and Seoul Gypsy Seosulla. Been to both before. Day 4- Seoul Brewery Hapjeong (good to great beers). Mysterlee Brewing (good beers). Turtle taps is walking distance from Seoul Brewery but didn’t get a chance to go because of the hours they were open. Day 5- Seoul brewery Seongsu. Good to great beers. Food was excellent there as well. I spent 3 hours there for my finale brewery stop in Seoul. Highly recommend. Day 6- Seoulista in Namdaemun Market. Been before. A tap house with 20+ local and Korean taps. Not my favorite place for the atmosphere. But some decent beers on tap and one of few places in Seoul that has Galmegi and Gorilla Brewing beers. They do have a food menu and WD ordered the meatball pasta which was delicious. 5 minute walk from Ramada ax it was the only day it rained. It was very cold and wet. All of the places I visited on this trip had food which is a bonus. Three places I will visit on our next trip will be Ash Tree, Kiwa Taphouse and Turtle Taps. Cheers.
I too am a fan of Art Monster, Seoul Gypsy and Seoul Brewery (both Hapjeong & Seongsu)- all excellent IPAs! I need to seek out your other suggestions. I found a place selling cans of Galmegi & Gorilla beers, but they were from 2025-refridgerated, but I passed. Those Craftbros beers are really fantastic!
How often do you go to SK and where do you stay when you’re in Seoul? Public transportation is pretty good and taxis are reasonable. Where did you find the Busan breweries cans of Galmegi and Gorilla? I may have seen one can of gorilla in Seoul. We go at least twice a year and also to Japan once or twice a year. If you like Galmegi beers there a pizza restaurant called Neighborhood that has all Galmegi beers on tap. It’s kinda hard to find the first time there. I thought they had some of the best pizza not only in Seoul but one of the best I had. I would recommend Brewery 304 & Ash Tree (never been, but was highly recommended by one of the workers at Seoul Brewery and a Korean kid who I brought cans for on this last trip.
I stay at a friends in Mangwon. I saw those cans in a bit-hidden store in a mall by Hapjeong Station. Never have had Galmegi beers that I know of, but there is a beer bar( 8 taps) near where I stay, but their menu is in Korean, so not sure if I ever had their beers Thanks very much for your tips! Much appreciated!
