South Twin Cities question

I would give South Lyndale a shot. It's fairly close to Bloomington (depending on where you are) and they have a great selection. And FYI Sticker Fight was brewery only But if you can find some one with one still they are fantastic.

 

Sticker Fight was brewery only, don't know if there are any bottles left. Steel Toe has Wee Heavy in bottles at the taproom in St. Louis Park, open tomorrow 3-10. South Lyndale Liquors in SW Minneapolis would be a good store to try for the rest.

 

Steel Toe Wee Heavy should still be out there, not all stores carry Steel Toe or Bent Paddle. I think Four Firkins carries both and I know FF44 does, you should be able to get all but Sticker Fight there.

 

Haskells in Chanhassen may not be a bad bet. they should have most of those. not sure if they still have Wee Heavy though.

Red Lion Liquor in Burnsville might also be a good bet, if you are looking to stay close to Bloomington.

 

I called them New Year's Eve, they said bottles are all out but they still have it on tap in the taproom.

As for stores, sounds like you were on the right track of where to look. I think the bigger issue was trying to go on a holiday. I'm not sure there was any store open on New Year's Day. I would also second South Lyndale Liquors, they're way of my beaten path but I love the feel of the place and it's worth it to just wander around and see what they have.

 

Lyndale Liquors would also be my choice for you and if you go back to FF steel toe is blocks away and Sticker Fight was great get a pour if you are up that way

 

I believe Haskell's in Bloomington (98th and Normandale) has both Commander and Dawn of Aurora. If not, they have a solid selection.

Alternately, Cheers Wine and Spirits in Bloomington (Anderson Lakes Parkway just by 169, it's in a strip mall near the McDonald's) should definitely have both. That's where I bought my bottle of Dawn of Aurora. They should have bottles of Fulton's Patience Barleywine as well.

There's a chance that either of those places may happen to have older bottles of the Noble Star series from Schell's, so you may luck out and also score Black Forest Cherry or North Country Brunette. The sours drink just fine with some age (I just had my last bottle of Star of the North from June 2013 and it was damn good)

 

Tried to find a Wee Heavy for you today as I figured it may be hit or miss depending where you go. Struck out myself.

Does anyone know if they are still for sale at the brewery?

 

Not at brewery, was there tonight, both that and sticker fight were gone, (both available on tap, as well as Lunker)

MGM might have Wee Heavy, I know their prices can keep some away and they are a Steel Toe account, would be worth a call

 

Damn, Lunker is still on? @BottleCaps80 If you make it to any taproom during your stay here, Steel Toe would be it right now. Sticker Fight, Wee Heavy and Lunker... Oh my!
