Been out of the trading game for a while, so really not sure on this one. What was the bottle count and what does it take? Would a Mexican cake get it done????

Bottle count this yr is 450...dont think mexican cake would get it done 1:1 but mexican cake is pretty incredible so maybe multiples would get a convo started (i could be weong on the latter but am certain on bottle count)

You forget that tragically, no one gives a flying f*ck about SH IRS.

Yeah i don't get it. I only just recently got a bottle otherwise i never would have guessed such a low bottle count for such a great beer that's flung around on the trading forums with nothing but a shrug. But i guess that's not necessarily a bad thing for those who know how good it is.

It was actually still available a couple of weeks ago at the brewery. Not sure if that's still the case though.

It does trade kinda low though. I guess without any barrel aging no one gives a shit about it. But it could also be that some people don't care for it. Either way, I'm happy I got my bottles.

I had bottles 440-41 and some others couple days after release. They can't have that much. I would have bought the rest of it if I knew that.

i've heard rumors that this might still be around as of late june. i imagine the summer rush to the hamptons will zap that though. i've swung out there a few times and gotten a few bottles (and lunch...and a flight), and am heading out this coming weekend with the fam and will probably stop by (with the engine running and family in the car) and see what the scoop is. if there are still bottles, i'll definitely be grabbing them.

FWIW, this year's vintage fresh was probably the best i've tried (i wish they would bottle that scotch ale). although phil left and evan took over, the quality, in my opinion is as good or better. i've been really impressed with what's been coming out of SH lately, but it is on the super hush now that all the hip breweries have gone to silent releases. it is a shame that SH in general doesn't get the love it deserves. only recently did peconic and BRL start getting their due, but beers like the original berliner are mostly unknown...but on par with the cream of the crop. word on the street is that for BRL, evan was intimately involved, if not leading the show. in a way it is a good thing. after all, the whole point of these releases is to get you beer that you want to covet and open on special occasions and not trade away for the flavor of the month. there are lots of limited releases all over the country that don't get the love they deserve and many that get way too much love. i consider SH a gem for the informed.

Yes..... But I'd rather Southampton stay under the radar so us locals are able to get some amazing brews. On the other hand I think the ris should trade 5x than what it does.

Their release is a tough one though. (Sitting in 8° temps for a couple hours sucks)
