Kuhnhenn's taplist might not be as exciting as it used to be, but the none of the other places you list come close to Kuhnhenn in terms of quality, which I think was @Alextricity 's point. Witch's Hat is the closest, but honestly other that Big Doedish, nothing on on their usual taplists has impressed me all that much.

    So extreme=quality?

I did enjoy the Gose at WH a few weeks back.

Not sure what you mean by that, and I certainly didn't say that. The two Kuhnhenn beers I drink the most are Fluffer and DRIPA, and neither a session IPA nor a DIPA are particularly extreme. I guess you could call 4D extreme, and certainly the super rare stuff like the BBAs and the Eisbocks. Is Crème Brûlée Stout extreme?

I guess my point is that for me, Kuhnhenn wins across the board and would be great even without their "extreme" beers, though they are a damn good topping cherry.

Re: Witches' Hat, I really enjoyed their Gose they had last summer, but didn't care for the new one (the Andrew one.) And again, I don't dislike WH - they're probably in my top 2 or 3 in SE Mich, behind Kuhnhenn and probably just ahead of JP.

The Big Dodish comment made me think you were a bigger is better beer drinker.

There are some newer places making beers with out technical flaws, well in most of their beers.

There are a couple that win GABF awards often that don't get discussed - Bastogne and Redwood Lodge for example.

No, I'm pretty sure Alextricity's point was that he hasn't visited too many SE Michigan Breweries outside of Kuhnhenn.

All ill say is I completely disagree about quality in regards to Kuhn v Hat...But I do agree with you as far as the other breweries....Also disagree with you about the Gose' as IMO this version of their gose is far superior...But maybe I just like sour gose' better...
