I have a friend headed to Dauphin Island this weekend. Doesn't look like there's much on the island itself, but are there any decent bottle shops in the southern ALabama area not too far from Dauphin?

Since this wasn't answered... I have the same question as well. Seems the family picked our summer vacation here instead of Asheville...

I've hit the Cottage Hill Package store in Mobile before, and found their selection to be pretty good

Stop in Bham if possible. Mobile has some shops and a new brewery called Fairhope brewing. Lots of stuff here in the Ham.

Echoing the last 2 above, with a caveat.

Stop in Birmingham at Hop City, Highland Package Store, or Piggly Wiggly in Homewood. Hop City probably has the best selection in the state, but the other 2 should not be ignored. The caveat is that not all beers available in Alabama are available in all markets in Alabama - you'll get some stuff in Bham that isn't in Mobile, and vice-versa, so it's worht your time hitting the Bham stores as well as the Mobile stores.

Plus, *definitely* go to Fairhope Brewery. They make good stuff
