There's a couple small Tennessee craft beer FB groups, but none that are crazy active. I usually respond to trade requests on FB and Instagram comments.

Nashville Beer Geeks is your best bet as they let non locals in, If you post on the breweries instagram posts when they announce releases, people will respond if you offer something they are looking for, good luck !!

I've noticed via untapped, on Saturday mornings before beer releases at SG there's some sort of bottle share (looks like outside of nations taproom) can anyone give any info on this? Is it a just show up for the line with beer to share thing, or would I need to know someone to participate. Thanks

Just show up with some beer and a glass. Lots of line sharing at these releases. No need to know anyone ahead of time. It’s always a fun time

Funny, I came to this thread to ask the same thing. I'm in a group called "nashville beer geeks" but i've never seen a trade even close. IN fact, they were already complaining that trade requests were incoming for this new stout.

If you come across anything let me know. I'm trying to find someone to get this and rakaus modern life and nobody has been interested.

Ive seen your offers, not something i think alot of people are interested in trading for . People rather drink the local ipas and not have to pay shipping just to trade. I know many a people who have closed trades on that page, i have done a few myself.

I mean I've never even listed specific beers. I just get the impression that no one really does locals for locals there and it's all about getting whales. I even just reached out to a few members to try and get a read on what the german chocolate cake from southern grist was going for and they were all super hostile in the conversations. I went out there a few weeks ago for vacation and was hoping to trade for it and everyone acted like I was a psychopath for asking what it's been closing for. When you looked at that trade group, there were literally 20+ posts asking to trade for it and zero comments on all of them.

I can see how people wouldn't want to trade for IPA's, though, as SG and Bearded Iris make a lot of great ones. That being said, that group is a ghost town in comparison to Chicago trade groups.

That group isn't very active, but is actually more active than the other larger Nashville group. Also, the admin makes you delete closed trades, which I think is silly, because that can help show what stuff is trading for. In general, I think most Nashville people either don't trade, already have trade partners, or only want to trade for whales/bigger named breweries (OH, Monkish, etc..). There are a few that do trade the normal releases and I think they get to pick and choose among multiple offers. Also, on the last few stouts I have seen some big offers close early on, and then the market settles closer to real value, but people still want the higher value.

I've seen some ISO posts, but no FT's are listed, so I just keep scrolling usually.

Yeah the admin threatening to ban people who don't delete posts is pretty hilarious. He wants to make room for the... 2 or 3 other posts that happen every week? Does he not realize that new activity on posts moves them to the top?

I think your assessment is pretty accurate. I was a little miffed by the people I talked to just trying to get an idea of trade value for beers. It's frustrating to try and have a friendly conversation with someone about a beers value and it turns into them asking me how much I'm willing to give up. Too many people are in it for "winning a trade" or making max profitz instead of just helping others out and enjoying new beer.

I was one of the guys you messaged, the nice one you said. I do locals for locals with a few people , but usually for OH or Monkish or things like that. Best best for trades for Grist/BI beers is instagram posts it seems now . Good luck !!

Wow, this Fruity Pebb Hill is spot on. Tried in the tasting room at release yesterday and was skeptical but maybe due to trying a couple other pours...spot on liquid fruity pebbles. Assuming it doesn't fly out the door quickly, will definitely snag another 4-pk or two.
