Southern Swells 1st Bottle Release

Southern Swells, Jacksonville Beach, Fl has announced their first Bottle Release event. The beer is a Triple IPA called Awkward Morning. They have been putting out quality NE style IPAs since they opened earlier this year (Karate in the Garage, Truth Juice, etc.). The release is on 10/1/17 at Noon. The brewery has indicated the doors will open early for bottle sharing / keeping the line out of the heat. Details copied from the brewery page on facebook below:

For our 1st ever bottle release, we are releasing roughly 200 bottles of our Triple IPA "Awkward Morning" on Sunday, October 1st at noon. The bottles will be $20 each and there will be a 2 bottle limit. Although cash is preferred, we will be accepting debit/cards as well. We will also be tapping one of just a few kegs of this beer at noon, so come grab some bottles and stick around for a pint!

Awkward Morning • Triple IPA • 10.0% ABV • 39 IBU • At first glance this beer pours a hazy golden color but before you have too much time to fully take in the appearance you are hit with the potent aroma of citrus driven by the triple dry hop of columbus, simcoe, mosaic, galaxy, el dorado, eukanot and amarillo hops. The addition of honey malt offers a sweetness that subdues the higher ABV. But at 10.0%, don’t expect to wake up feeling refreshed and ready to take on the day.

 

The word on the street is that the canning line is forthcoming soon, and they are already crowlering beers now.
