Southern Swells Brewing - Jacksonville Beach, FL

    Just got back from Jacksonville and wanted to give these guys a thread. Was pretty impressed with them, especially for being so new.

    Karate In The Garage actually reminded me of Tree House. Not quite the level of a Tree House, but delicious.

    Also liked the Livin' The Dreamsicle Milkshake IPA. Probably the best non-Tired Hands attempt at a Milkshake I've had.

    I'm in the Jacksonville area pretty often so looking forward to seeing how these guys grow. Anyone know where the brewer came from?

    The owners/brewers were actually home brewers with no commercial experience previously from what I was told a couple weeks ago when I was in there

    This batch of Karate in the Garage is their best yet IMO as well as from several people I've talked to. With their beers are this good, this early, they seem to have a really bright future ahead of them!!

    Next time you're in Jax, you should also check out Hyperion Brewing downtown...another new brewery that opened up last week

    Love this place! They need to be added to beer advocates places in Jacksonville

    Could not agree more on these guys, and i need to go try that new Milkshake IPA! I don't make it out to the beach that often, but if i had known that was on, i would have stopped there on the way back from Atlantic Beach Brewing!
