Drop a scoop of vanilla ice cream in it. Every time my wife does this at a bar everyone around her comments that they wish they had done the same.

Plum noir was a drainpour for my wife. She likes the baltic porters, which are sweeter than imperial porters, and as you can guess she loves the creme brulee. So does my 84 yo mother, who usually prefers yuengling.

I can't handle it by itself. But I like to experiment with it as a blending component.

For me it's a nice beer for a night cap or after a meal. Not a session beer by any means, but well done, IMO

I haven't had the new version, but I wouldn't bother with it myself. I had it a year or so ago, and I just couldn't finish it. Too sweet for my tastes.

I really like the Choklat, which is also pretty sweet. I think the sweetness plus the actual flavors of the Creme don't work for me.

Curious if anyone has mixed this with a bitter stout, such as Bell's Expedition?

Creme Brule is awesome fresh for a dessert beer IMO. Also, I had a 2 year aged one at a tasting that tasted like drinking buttercream frosting. Regardless of diabetes status, awesome dessert beer is awesome.

I had both Creme Brûlée and Plum Noir on tap for the first time this weekend. I finished my round with the CB, and good thing, because that is one intensely rich beer. However, in that role--a 4 oz taster to end the session--it is perfect. It smells just like a caramel macchiato, and while it is certainly sweet, the taste has much more balance than the super-sweet aroma. It's an excellently done beer and I'll definitely seek it out in future years.

The Plum Noir, on the other hand, was not so awesome. It wasn't bad, but it just tasted like a pretty generic porter. I got almost no plum characteristics, save for a slightly purple hue to the color.

I'm not usually one for beer floats, but they work with this one.
