"I saw pumking and warlock in a wholesaler store in NY yesterday and was gonna get them but bottle on dates where from June and may I believe...is this normal?"

I am in PA, all my Warlock bottles are dated June 2014...so that is normal this yr

Creme Brulee and some other ST beers are far too sweet

Nice - super pumped about another ST release. I have a lot of access to this kinda stuff so if anyone needs a hook-up let me know!

Certainly not, but I don't get the hate for ST. I find most of their beers to be quite tasty.

ST is one of my 5 favorite breweries. I look forward to each new release.

Agree the espresso stout sounds great. I wanna try that when it comes out. Thanks for the info.

I went through three cases. Not surprisingly, by the time I finished it I was pretty sick of it. But yeah, great stuff. I just wish they released a new version each season instead of yearly.

I had a brief love affair with Southern Tier before I moved on to stuff like Curmudgeon, Resin, and Vampire Slayer, and now I'm very skeptical about ST and haven't had a brew from them in over a year. I would give 2xOne a try, but it's all old at this point. Now these brews do sound very interesting, and I think if I see any I might have to pick up a bottle of each.

Love Mokah, but 2XPresso doesn't grab me. Milk stouts are not for me. Does Warlock have the lactose milk stout taste to it?

As for the English DIPA. I'm in. Although 2XIPA leans towards a Double English IPA anyway...

I'm a ST fan myself, I thought their last release Goat Boy was very good. I will at least buy a single of the 2X Presso and give it a shot, since stouts are what ST does well.

I've honestly only had Pumking (loved it - woke up that night and threw up, but I blame the steak) and 2XIPA, which I was quite underwhelmed with - though I seem to be alone in that opinion.

Why should that matter ? People cellar them and they're not IPA's

I have found that I either love Southern Tier's offerings or find them to be very average and not worth spending money on. Definitely pick up on what people say about artificial sweeteners or syrups being used. However, they have a sweet brewery and is worth a stop for a good experience and good food.

No, I'm with you on that one 2X isn't that good compared to its competition.

Nope, I'll stand next to you on that opinion. Other than Pumking (which I really like) and 2XIPA (which is a solid but not spectacular IPA) I think most of their other beers are gimmicky or just plain average. Chocklat and Creme Brulee are very good, but I squarely put them in the gimmicky category because you can only drink a small amount. The rest of their stuff I pass by each time I go to the beer store.

I find it funny complaining about overwhelming syrup presence and out of all the bc variants that could have been referenced, the one variant that tasted like cough syrup was named :stuck_out_tongue: i for one am excited about 2xpresso, i love ST's stouts.

Not at all - the one I tried was a bitter, hoppy mess. Do not want.
