I haven't had too many beers from Coalition, but this one is good. I like my IPA's pale, not amber. This one is a lovely straw color and easy to drink at 7% They call it a citrus infused IPA, not sure exactly sure what fruit is used, but the beer has a balanced caramel malt sweetness, with a fruity hop profile. Tastes like Mosaic and Citra to me. In line with Fresh Squeezed & Citrus Mistress ... but better. Good job Coalition!

I'm not sure if they've specified which particular fruits, but from what I was told it has 5 different varieties of citrus zest in the recipe. In any case, I agree with you. It's a solid IPA, and easily the best thing I've ever had from Coalition.

Citra hops blowing up! I remember when they first came out and the word citrus or any other twist of that word wasnt being plastered everywhere, and I used them in a batch of homebrew and knew that they would start getting all kinds of acknowledgement, alllllll kiiiindzzzz.

even just being named "citra" and having plenty of other hops being so citrusy already.... one hop to rule them all???? hahahhaa

it's my understanding that this beer is a little tip-of-the-hat to their friends at Tired Hands and their use of citrus in IPAs...

Didn't like it. I don't like the citrus infused trend. Tried two before, including the stone grapefruit, and figured I would give this one a try. They all seem too forced. The citrus is an afterthought and is not incorporated well into the beer. It tastes artificial. I hope this trend doesn't continue.

I thought it was ok, but pilsner malt in IPAs is a turn off for me.

    Haven't tried this one.
IMO, Fresh Squeezed was great, but citrus mistress was terrible - maybe it's just my palate, but it tasted like water with grapefruit peels in it. Sad, cause I liked Hop Valley's other offerings (alphadelic/centauri).

Is this beer more of the watery-grapefruit-rind-vibe?
I could do without grapefruit IPAs. Hints of orange, mango, pineapple - sure. Grapefruit? No thanks.

I got a healthy dose of lime in the bottle I tried, as well as the expected bitterness from citrus peel. Thought it was solid, but would not bang again.

Just had this today. It wasn't anything special. I won't buy again. Not because I didn't like it but there are so many others I like more. I try a lot at least once. Workhorse IPA is a mainstay right now. Also digging half hitch.

Lime is right. A few sips in and I kept tasting something I couldn't put my finger on. A few sips later, I realized it reminded me of the fakey lime flavor in Bud Light Lime (shudder). I'm sure this isn't fakey lime, but it sure tasted like it. Not into it.

On the other hand, I personally love their Two Dogs IPA and have long thought it was one of the most underrated IPAs in PDX.
