Well shit, just found out this beer existed. Seems like it commands a good amount, see some dude offering CD9, which I think it highly valued but I'm no 100% sure. I offered up a BA Big Sound, no hits yet so I figured I'd post in here to see if I'm off, maybe way off? IDK...sometimes this whole trading value thing escapes me, I just want a bottle because of the MF Doom artwork. It's nice that the beer is rated so highly too. Anyways, any insight on how hard these are to get, how much they cost, etc...would be greatly appreciated. I can add some Funky Buddha growlers to help get it done maybe, idk, not going to go crazy for it but damned if I don't want that beer because of MF Doom.
Apparently it's being re-released soon with the MF Doom label, may have one all set up. Seems like it will hit distro after a brewery release if any are left, 6pp limit.
$12, 6 PP, 70 some cases ... so there's not a lot to go around. "It will hit distro" means that a few beer shops around Portland will get a case or 2. Vancouver Canada might get a case, Washington state might get 4 - 6 cases. Distribution will be thin.
Thanks for the info. So hopefully I can just 1:1 a BA Big Sound, seems about the same rarity if not more, and it's way more expensive. I don't even care about the price difference I just want that beer for the label lol.
Same here, OP. I wanna pop a bottle and listen to the whole Special Herbs box set, Vol. 0-9. Hopefully we're both able to snag one.

I get the reason you're wanting it as many people have said they wanted the bottle strictly because of the label. But the beer is so damn good. Not saying that you are, but I've seen a lot of "devaluing" (i know, I hate myself for saying that) of this beer because "I only want it for the label" "I Love MF DOOM so I need this." I hope you get a bottle and enjoy the beer too! I mean, the label is sweet don't get me wrong, but what is within the bottle is worth it too!
Yeah I feel ya, not trying to devalue anything. With a rating of 97 and some of the trades posted I figured it had good value, just trying to get specifics on it. I feel like a BA Big Sound 1:1 is more than fair considering the price difference, and rarity of BA Big Sound being on par with this one. I just hope someone who gets a bottle feels the same way.
Definitely not saying you were. BA Scotch Ale may just not be a hugely wanted style? That'd be my guess.
Seems to be the case unfortunately. But I had a message from someone looking to get special herbs so I'm hopeful, Funky Buddha tends to get trades done lately.
