Curious what these are fetching nowadays, or if I'd have to give up my right nut for one of them. Is Special Kay still available for purchase online?

    1. I just traded my last 75 cL D.B. for a 25 cL D.B. (which pretty much don't exist, comparatively) + Balaton, so that's probably not helpful… IIRC, though, awhile ago I traded a 75 cL D.B. for another Balaton, Civil Disobedience 3, Daybreak + "something else from Hill Farmstead"…

    2. No idea when either was last available from Struise's webshop but neither has popped up on EtreĞourmet in awhile.

Edit - FWIW, Double Black > Special Kay (by a lot)

Does anyone know the bottle count on them?

Also, I would consider the BA DL for both Double Black and Special Kay to be EXTREMELY lopsided.

Say what you want but we get the beers. We let go bottles we tried before to go for things that we haven't tried. It is still much better than sitting there, asking about the trade value, bottle counts... You know, at the end of the day, it's just beer.

Little touchy, aren't you? I'm entitled to my opinion. I don't care what anyone does with a beer that doesn't belong to me. If I had a BA DL I would have made that trade in a heartbeat, and I still would have considered it lopsided.

It isn't lopsided if the two trading parties are happy with the trade.

Special Kay and Double Black were never extremely rare (DB was produced in 2 batches, first with foil and a second with wax seal), but they were very expensive. €45 at the brewery, that's almost $65. Rarity-wise they don't even really come close to the BA DL's I'd guess, but price-wise I guess you could consider it a bit lop-sided. I guess it all depends on how much you're focused on getting that single rare bottle.

Didn't I read that there was supposed to be another batch of BDV or did that already happen? Also, anyone know what th bottle count was on the first 2 batches?

Since you asked for the value, I helped you provide the insight from the most recent trade. But since you know the value already (you concluded that trade EXTREMELY lopsided) why you still opened the thread?
