Like the St. Bernardus 12 Magnum I always see at one of my local bottleshops? (technically it's a gourmet Scandinavian grocery store, but it sells plenty of beer as well)

My personal preference is any of the FW special releases. They have always been great beers and could easily celebrate any occasion, Cheers !!!!!

Sierra Nevada's Bigfoot? That's a hell of a good beer.

I may have another suggestion for you. I just picked up a bottle of Bosteels DeuS Brut des Flandres that I am planning to sample this weekend. Its style is "Bière de Champagne / Bière Brut," and it comes with a manual that includes a description of the brewing process and detailed instructions on how to prepare it for drinking.

Oh, the special occasion I am celebrating? Finding a "Bière de Champagne / Bière Brut."

Congratulations on your retirement!! That's what we work all our lives for. About three more years for me. I agree on the Sofie and Tank 7. And like many others make them low abv so that you can enjoy for a much longer time. And from experience I can say that a good quality non peaty scotch goes great with aged, crumbly white cheddar. Do enjoy your retirement. You've earned it. Cheers to good times!!
