I opened up the dry hopped Incipient last night and was blown away by the complexity of it. I'm so happy that Michigan has a brewery like this and I'm ready to throw whatever money I have at this brewery every month.

So good and so damn jammy. I'm very glad this is coming out of Grand Rapids.

Extremely impressed with Black Currant Incipient. Such a beautiful beer, I couldn't believe the color when I initially started pouring it into the glass. Great balance of flavors, tart but not too much, perfect acidity, tons and tons of black currant flavor. Up there with some of the most enjoyable sours I've had. Excellent work Speciation!

    I very much agree.

I had the Feline Speciation collab they did with HopCat while I was in G.R. yesterday. It was really tasty. I have a feeling that, with their small batches, their beer will be nearly impossible to get.

Not only am I crushing hard on their beers right now, I'm loving the glassware from Speciation so far as well. My wife's a scientist and the tree of life logo has made her less upset with me adding to my ever growing glassware collections. Thanks, Speciation, for bringing together my hobby and my wife's profession.

Great update from Mitch about upcoming bottles today.
First off members only bottles have been announced... Wine barrel aged Mango Incipient! Sounds fantastic, can't wait to pick up bottles.
Also this next public release will include TWO different bottles.
First there will be Genetic Drift (b2) and second (but not least, as it sounds incredible)
Genetic Erosion. As per Mitch's description:
This is an open fermented imperial black saison aged in half fresh bourbon barrels and half neutral bourbon barrels. It's 9%, and fairly dry. Lots of oak, dark fruit, bourbon, maple, and a touch of funk.

Will be sure to grab both of these because well, Mitch is just killing it right now. Seriously cannot thank him enough for sharing the love of his craft with West MI. Keep up the great work!

Looks like everyone trusted you.. Unless you were within a 20-30min window from when these shops posted they had, it was too late!

Another buddy on this site actually gave me a heads up on it. Figured I'd share it with BA's before the social media animals swooped down and gobbled it all up haha.

We'll shoot. Once again I messed up the calendar reminder for the eventbrite ticket sales. Both bottles sounded good too!

Should be pretty easy to find them in store next weekend. I think they go on shelves as soon as Speciation stops pick up at the brewery, so around 4 on Saturday.

Incipient w Tangerine anyone? Also, if you thought Black Currant had a lot of fruit in it, word is that he used 2x as much Tangerine as he did Black Currant... My mouth is watering already! Love all these fruits he's putting out, definitely giving the people what they want. Elderberry Genetic Drift and Pomegranate Incipient on the way as well it sounds like. Good time to be a sour beer lover in West MI!

Let's hype it up so it sells out in 25 seconds instead of 40 seconds.

I'm a super big fan of these unhelpful comments.

This thread doesn't have that many responses. The people seem passionate. Let them have it. No need to piss in anyone's cheerios.

I think you're giving BA too much credit, I bet this post reaches tens of people lol. You'll want to bitch on Facebook about anything posted, they've got a slightly bigger audience...
