I've been lurking (and posting occasionally) long enough that I'll spare you all the 3,573,581th "Where can I buy Heady Topper" question. That said, I was hoping you could give me some extra insight ahead of my trip to Vermont in August.

Tuesday morning - I've read that Heady drops at 10 a.m. at Beverage Warehouse in Winooski. We'll be staying in Burlington the night before, so this is a pretty simple one. My question is in regards to Lawson's. According to the delivery schedule, it drops in both Waitsfield (Mehuron's, Village Grocery, etc.) and Waterbury (Cork, CBC, Crossroads) that day. I've tried searching on FB/Twitter, but does anyone know a usual time for any of these deliveries?

If I grab a case of Heady in Winooski and make it to Waitsfield by 11:30/12, will I have missed Lawson's? Would I actually be ahead of the delivery trucks? Would it make more sense to look for it in Waterbury, where I'm then staying Tuesday night?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I went up on a Tuesday a few weeks back. Picked up Lawsons and Second Fiddle at Moretown General Store (on Rte 100 or 100B, can't remember) around 3:30 pm, then Heady at Mehurons around 4:00. Plenty of each at those times, but not yet summer peak. My sense is that Lawsons SOS is much more available now than it used to be.

If you get to Winooski Beverage before 10 on Saturdays you can pick up both SOS and Headys. Be forewarned the line begins to form early. Generally at 9am....

I grabbed a case of each in Waitsfield on a Tuesday morning. Lawson's and Alchemist delivery trucks were about 10 minutes apart. They came early, both before 9am.

    Thanks for the info, everyone.

We're leaving Waterbury Wednesday morning for Hill Farmstead and then on to Portland, so it's Monday evening, anytime Tuesday, or early Wednesday for VT beer acquisitions.

I've seen a lot of references to how Heady/Lawson's can be more difficult to find in the summer. Does that hold true even in the early and middle parts of the week, or is it mostly a weekend issue?

Got Lawson's at about 5pm a couple of Tuesdays ago at Craft Beer Cellar in Waterbury. Limit one 4-pack.

Jolley Moretown General store usually receives the shipment of lawsons around noon on Tuesday, and when available second fiddle.

Three 4 pks/person at moretown general store this morning. Waterbury just got their shipment, 2 pp at crossroads, 1 pp at cbc. Hope that helps.

Awesome. Sounds like I should be able to grab a case of Heady at Beverage Warehouse, stop at Moretown General for some Lawson's, continue on to Mad Taco in Waitsfield for lunch, and then head to Old Stagecoach to check in.

I'm in the same boat for next week - should be in Waterbury around 11am next Wednesday. I'd be curious as to how you made out today, and if you got any more insight on CBC - Heady delivery time, and if there was any Lawson's left over from their Thursday delivery.

I went to CBC today around 12 and the truck was there just leaving for heady, I was told 1 but they had plenty at 1 4pk pp. also found a rogue 4 pack of second fiddle which was nice. I also went last night before pro pig around 5 and got sip and they had about a case left. Hope that helps! I know this thread helped me a ton

Agreed. Thanks again to everyone who supplied info. I'm feeling good about finding some good stuff in a few Tuesdays on the Burlington - Waitsfield - Waterbury circuit.

When does the summer beer tourism tend to slow down? Will late September be less busy?

Well, that's the start of fall tourist / leaf peeper time so it will probably be just as busy.

After school starts back up but before the leaves start to change (maybe a one or two week window there), and then after the leaves have changed but before the snow starts to fall.
