A friend of mine just gave me a bottle. It was Bottled in February, and she's had it in her cellar since then. I've had it fresh and loved it, and I heard it ages well (I know people don't generally age IPA's). My question is this:
It's kind of in a nether region right now, not fresh, but not really "aged." Has anyone had experience with it at four months or so? Is it still pretty hoppy, or is it worth sitting on at this point and letting it mature? Thoughts?

Wait till next year and do a side by side. Why not? I myself am in the extreme minority when it comes to Imperial / Double IPA's with a few or more months on them- I always find something to appreciate in them. I don't get too caught up in the freshness game, especially with an IPA of that octane. If you drink it a week ago, today or next year it's gonna be a very tasty beer.

Also, I have 4 from this year in my cellar, and now that we're talkin bout em, I'm gonna drink one. So there.
