^^^ I believe that is going to be an El Catador only release. And if so, I'd be glad to bring it to a share when I get it.

Funny how I can never recall a Dallas thread with so many self admitted hoarders yet blame all of their beer problems on population. Justify it however you want to. " Houston, we have a problem"

i wanna say when majority of Houston caught wind of Divine Reserve (DR9 specifically, when facebook became the new myspace) releases...the craft boom slowly took off.

around mid 2011, is when i noticed limited beers were becoming a bit 'hard' to find.

Boom sauce! I also think Dallas is better at enforcing the limits. Spec's on 75 has been limit 1 or 2 of all special beers since opening.

I must disagree with your population arguement. DFW is 2 metropolitans. Houston is its own. DFW swamps Houston in land mass size alone. Now compare either Dallas or FW to Houston then, you would have a valid arguement.

It's a complicated issue, but population certainly plays a role. I'm not convinced that it's strictly a hoarding issue. Several people on here and elsewhere said they only picked up one or two in order to leave more for others. Two of my four went to a friend that asked me to get him some. Also, just because there aren't "self-admitted hoarders" from DFW on here doesn't mean there aren't hoarders in DFW. You're looking at a very small sample size.

Fair enough but thankfully I still don't think we have the same issues as you guys and I don't think its all directly related to population.

Until Mid 2012, nothing was that hard to find. We just didn't get near as much stuff.

The last year has been the huge growth.

Think of 2011 Abyss. It sat on shelves for months. 2012 Abyss lasted a few hours.

Craft beer has exploded in the last year. Bars like Hay Merchant opening have brought craft to beautiful people that would have never come to Petrol or Nobi for a beer. It's become a shiny new thing that is going the way of wine. I bet you a HUGE percentage of the craft world cares more about the hype than the actual beer.

Plus, I heard many a person speaking of Untapped at The Saucer and no mention of BA. And, our market is dominated by Specs's, specifically downtown, on these small limited releases. With that said Prost!

Agreed, there's hoarders everywhere and I don' think thats the sole problem. You guys have a crazy appetite for beer and special releases like few other cities in the U.S. You do realize how crazy the H-town threads are when new beers are released compared to most other cities, right? It is amusing to watch for sure.

Haha, I was going to say Chicago is one of the only other cities I know of that has similar threads for new releases.
