Ten days without a post, so I figured what the hey... Anybody know exactly when Spezial will close this year for the summer vacation? It is always some time before Sandkerwa but how much before is my question? I'll be in Bamberg at least the week before and after Sandkerwa if anybody is around and wants to meet for a beer or three...
My wife and I should be there 8/16, 8/17, and the morning of 8/18. We'll absolutely be game to meet up. Will shoot you a message before we head out. It looks like that, barring a special closure, everyone is open normal hours on Friday and only Spezial and Keesmann have abbreviated hours on Saturday. We mirrored these dates almost exactly in 2017 and Spezial was open, so hopefully that holds true.
I found out from another source their vacation is Aug 17 to Sep 3, inclusive. I figure Spezial will probably be slammed the Friday night. My brother and I are there with our bikes and plan on doing rides during the day (places like Merkendorf, Buttenheim, Stettfeld, etc) but by Fri/Sat may be ready for a break.
