A taco without meat can be awesome, but a taco without beer? Not a chance! Discover three pairings for a cauliflower-based taco from Los Angeles-area breweries.

Without the recipe for this dish, the vast majority of us have absolutely no point of reference.

I have not had a cauliflower taco but Chris Ikeda at Lake and Irving in Minneapolis makes a killer KFC Cauliflower - Korean fried cauliflower, Gochujang, lime, honey, sesame - and he has a killer beer list. The cauliflower is a little hot and it is devine with a Todd the Axeman or a 60 Minute IPA.

A fair point. And we're retiring the column in 2018. We introduced Table Mates in May 2015 in response to reader demand for articles on pairing beer and food. We'll be looking for new ways to cover beer cuisine in the months ahead and welcome (as always) feedback and suggestions.

Thank you for the response. I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Have you ever considered pairing up with an existing food site to do joint beer and food features? I read Serious Eats very regularly (as do a number of other BA members from what I've seen) and they would seem to have the general tone/vibe to mesh well here. And if they were too big or would want to put too strong of their own stamp on things I'm sure there are a plenty of fledgling food sites whose owners/writers are beer enthusiasts and would love to team up for the exposure.

BA is pretty much my only online stop for beer, but I read a lot of food sites and I'd certainly love to have those two worlds meet a bit.
