i kind of liked it. definitely not a barleywine, though. it's a bit like the rum barrel grand cru if you've had that.

Taste-wise, it's like a sour mash ale. Ridiculous to call it a barleywine. I liked it okay, but rated it poorly based on the style. It's really thin-bodied with next-to-no carbonation, too. Definitely a strange one.

Nothing like a barleywine, and the sour is lacto, but not in a tasty way like a Berlinerweis. I returned mine to the store - normally I love BFM's sours, but this one was a total fail IMO.

The bottle is different than the original tap version. If you go in expecting a sweet barleywine you will be disappointed. The bottle was a bit too sharply acidic, but the growler I had (thanks BulbMan) from orig. release was actually quite delicious, though def. not what I expected of a barleywine. Nicely sour, pleasantly malty, complex and tasty. I did enjoy the bottle though, just not as well.

weird ass beer, have had one on tap and have one aging now to hopefully pull out the sour aspects/ balance the beer. Divisive but certainly worth the experience of trying.

    Reminds me of garbage water.

Low carbonation and pretty much no barrel aging noticeable in either the smell or taste.

Really a unique beer, and certainly not a traditional barleywine, if you can even call it that at all. Bottles are abundant here, and rightfully so. It was a drain pour for me. Flat and acidic. Draft was excellent, bottles not so much.

I had a bottle yesterday. Flat and thick and sour. Not at all what I was expecting. I finished it but I wouldn't buy it again.

Had it bottled and didn't mind it at all. No trouble to drink.
